Good evening transformer fans, When I grew up I had limited access to the 80s cartoon means my brother had Arrival from cybertron, Desertion of the dinobots and Transformers the movie. (Which I watched over and over again) If I was lucky I would catch the odd different episode on Timmy Mallet. So I mainly read the UK marvel comics which my brother collected from issue 25-198 then I started collecting from 250-332. So basically for me Broadside was a wrecker that looked like the pics below, later on i started collecting transformers more seriously trying to complete my G1 collection and when I got Broadside i was a bit gutted with the toy after all his kick ass appearances in my childhood comics. Hence the want for this project, he doesn't transform I gave up on that option to increase articulation and I don't have the engineering skills to pull something like a triple changer off. The reason for the mold base was I original got him for a modern style Hoist but when I managed to get an MMC Hoist for a good price I made use of it on this instead. I took as many pictures of him in the comics which with all the different artists made them fairly varied in appearance so I then drew out a design i was set in stone over with a front, side, back and 3d view which definitely helped to work from instead of flicking through pics on the phone which I normally do. This was the 1st time I used a hot glue gun too which I found really useful for filling and sticking when other glues would not.
