Hey all, Since we have a large, long-term forum here, there are LOTS of accounts going back over 20 years. All of which use an email and password. Many are abandoned. And many used the same username and password in multiple places over the years. Modern spammers are gathering username/email/passes from wherever they can get them, going back years, and then attempting to find any place else they can log in with them. Not just stores but sites like ours so they can drop spam links and the like. We've had several situations like this recently where dormant or old password using accounts had a spammer log in and post as a TFW2005 member. To help combat this, we are now requiring passwords to be updated once every 365 days, for everyone. We are also requiring anyone who hasn't logged in in over 2 years to reset their password, if they return. In addition, we are now checking lots of different things on the back end when anyone updates or changes their info. If the system flags it as suspicious, we may lock your account and require you to verify or reset passwords via an email link. To be clear, as of right now, we do not believe TFW2005 was compromised. This is just a precaution, reacting to the modern internet. And it's something we should all be doing anyway, best practices. Please always update your password once a year, and never use the same password in two places. Here and everywhere else. You can send me a conversation @Tony_Bacala or use the contact us form down at the bottom if you have any issues. We'll update this as needed.
