I know .I know. This has been talked about a lot. Debunked, similarities, fake scripts??? BUT .... that ship over the water (in the new extended footage) looks a hell of a lot like a Bayverse kind of Unicron. The boats and shit being sucked into the center. Hate to tell you, but Unicron did that. Extinction for everyone and everything. Unicron destroys planets. He eats them for breakfast. Bay will probably plagiarize Unicrons attributes and call it something stupid .Like the cube. lol
Going to summarise this for you; The ship over the water is Lockdown's ship The fact the ship has a form of tractor beam is something that many ships have and does not mean it is Unicron While the ship may turn out to be Unicron, part of Unicron or one of many smaller ships with a hive mind that are called Unicron... until the trailers or film gives us more the threads have already kind of covered every potential option - as you've said its already been discussed. Personally I think the ship shares more in common with the Warworld - however that's just me. Warworld - Transformers Wiki Regardless, at this point where the film is barely two weeks away in most places its probably best waiting a bit longer or until we have more evidence for or against the ship being Unicron. He's saying that he believes Bay will take inspiration of Unicron and call it something else in order to avoid annoying those who want to believe that it isn't an accurate portrayal. For example; - The Allspark becomes 'The Cube' - Mirage became 'Dino' - Wheeljack became 'Que' - Brawl became 'Devastator'
I agree that it more reminiscent of Warworld than Unicron. Unicron seems to be just be a more convenient explanation of the ship. I am inclined to think there might be some G2 influences in the movie other than the ship.
Cool. Ya I never got into the TF comics. Even the IDW are all still in there boxes. But its very possible.
It might have been a mistake - however the movie rolled with the choice and their are contradicting reports as to whether it was a mistake or a name drop by Bay; "Working names for Brawl were Demolisher and Devastator, the latter had also been a working name for Blackout at one point. Even though Michael Bay confirmed in May of 2006 that "Devastator" was not the final name" "According to a fan who attended the Australian press conference, Bay had confirmed that he had decided to use the name "Devastator" because he had preferred it"
if you really think that unicron is the only one with the power to suck things up, then I guess devastator as unicron...
Battle Unicorn - Transformers Wiki A technorganic Unicron... so it could appear one day His robot mode is actually surprisingly close to Grimlock's robot mode... given the head shape and the axe... coincidence? I think not
The ship is part of Unicron, it's his hand, at the end of the movie the ship docks and you see Unicron flex his arm. this is from a leaked screening.......
