So, this year I was greeted with official LEGO Ninjago Set (71707) with 2 modes: A mech with human pilot and a futuristic jet. Then I found out turning from one mode to another require reassembly of parts (Kreo, anyone?). To add salt to the wound, the jet mode seemed like pretty simple and probably used just half the parts from the set. Fine. I'll do it myself. After I built the official mech mode bout 2 months back ( as shown from the boxart above) , I immediately get down to business and try to make a proper LEGO TF from it. So there: Transforming between modes doesn't require reassembly of parts. That’s honestly cool. Maybe you could buy the other Prime Empire vehicles and turn them into vehicles that can transform into sort of limbs? I came up with a torso configuration that only requires parts-forming the lower legs. You might have to buy a second mech or use spare joint parts though.
