Outstanding. Giant faction symbol on the hood and all. Don't change a thing Pete :thumb

The rest of the sub figures don't interest me, but this I like. It'll make a nice TFP Chromedome(I don't read IDW comics).

The new heads for this year have been computer-designed rather than physically sculpted, so there should be way less difference between the mockups and the physical heads, apparently.

Not bad, not liking the swords much as to my knowledge Chromedome as has used his twin rifles.

That was the old Chromedome. The new Chromedome likes to get all up close and personal. *cough*

I seem like the odd one out, but going that G1 with the choice of shades and the color placement just makes the IDW head seem jarring to me. What's the point in using Roche's head design if you're just going to throw the MTMTE inspiration out the window with the body?

Just took the set from "I have to find a way to afford this" to "Eh, maybe not." Happy for all the people that like it, though.

The factory wasn't familar with scuplting human faces well but have not had a problem with robot faces.

No. That would be impossible at that size. But he does come with Stylor still, a repaint of an Arms Micron figure.

One of the few Prime molds I might accept as a classics/Generations toy. Especially when you have the arms mistransformed like in that pic, less apelike and long then, which wouldn't fit a G1 update in my opinion. Colors look great, I will probably 'need' it for my classics.
Great work Funpub. It is a good thing the swords aren't integral to the alt-mode or anything like that, might get him a gun or two instead.

    This!

I've got Code & Rewinder on order, and may still try to track down this & tank-Rewind, but it'd be great to see an official Takara/Hasbro effort at doing IDW-inspired Domey & Rewind. I'm sure they'd find uses for Chromedome's mold, and Rewind can obviously be turned into a memory-stick Eject, and maybe even Frenzy & Rumble for fun.

    Less-transformed? Under-transformed?

This is how I transform my Wheeljack, he looks ridiculous otherwise…

How is the Club responsible for what Hasbro does at retail and why should they care? The Club has never used this mold before so its fair game.

Its only overkill to me when the Club uses a mold and then later uses it again.

And I've only seen this mold used three times at retail - Wheeljack, Dead End and Beast Hunters Wheeljack.

Hey, that looks great! A fitting use of the mold for old Chromedome. A pity the dual sword don't match his character at all. *sigh*

I dig. Though I think I'd dig it even more if the hood Autobot logo was asymmetrical, like wildrider, only do it the opposite direction.
