I'm pretty sure it's from the 80s as I remember watching it as a kid. The main guy was tall and skinny with blonde hair and a beige (I think) hat. He also may or may not have been a robot. I think I remember it showing scenes of the guy with his skin off and robotics revealed, kind of like Astroboy. He was a friend to a younger kid though and I think they may have traveled through time but I forget. They definitely spent a lot of time in a high tech 80s computer room place though. Is this ringing any bells for anyone?
I looked through a list of 80's cartoons and this was as close as I could find. The Flying House? YouTube - The Flying House opening
None of those seem to be it. This is a quick sketch of what the guy looked like, at least how I remember it to be... I was born in 81 and this is pretty early childhood I think so I'm guessing mid-80s. It was a more cartoony style, like a DIC cartoon or possibly anime, not a more realistic action hero style like a lot of 80s cartoons like GI Joe or Heman... but still somewhat realistic, not super cartoony.
I'll see your Flying House & raise you a Superbook. They don't seem to be related but the designs are pretty much the same. Down to the robot. Used to watch this when I was little. Of course, this is the 2nd Superbook season intro. 1st season didn't have the little kid. The robot was a toy & would be alive once they were in Superbook. They went into Superbook, no computer involved. Guess they wanted to 'hip' it up in the 2nd season. YouTube - Superbook
Definitely not Superbook, although I did like that show a lot. Not Ghostbusters either. I think it may have been something educational.
