I didn't realize I'd be making so many customs! These are fun! This thread will be the main location for all of my customs. Will update first post as I go! Previous projects will be posted below. I am working to upload the CAD. As usual, I'll occasionally print parts for those without printers n__n

For those with printers, here Is a LINK to my Google Drive.

Here's a preview of the Megatron engergon mace.
Any ideas on how to attach this guy to the arm? For now it's just a 5mm peg so he'll hold it like a normal person.
Also, any suggestions for the Haslab Unicron? I think @Shattered Trousers made a great suggestion for eye beams. I want to make a small moon base to crush. A planet maybe? hmmm

For the mace, you could go the route of the Earthrise one, or SS-05 Optimus where the actual peg goes into his hand, but is molded to look like it's coming out of his arm. Additionally, you could do something that actually plugs in on the side of the arm, but extends down so that it looks like it's coming out of his hand, but both of those options requires a lot of extra work. As for Unicron, all the ideas you mentioned sound great! You could also maybe make some effect parts for the vortexes his planet mode makes in the movie:

5mm handle would be easiest. Centurion kit uses a hand cover but that peg was oversized and the cover was scuffed internally when placing on due to not having enough breathing room for the hand. SL had another option where it plugs into the forearm port and then extends over a closed hand. Granted, this is the most bulkiest solution but it worked pretty well.

The SL mace also used an embedded metal (copper?) wire to allow for dynamic posing. Not sure if your design would allow for an embedded wire. Otherwise, you may need to come up with a separate stand to hold the mace ball off the floor for poses. Edit: Or embed 3mm holes in the mace ball for basic stand compatibility.

If the chain is too fragile, you can buy chains in bulk at hobby / craft stores. Edit: You would also need to get a pair of jeweler's pliers to handle the individual links.

Ohh wow i see. The SL mace is pretty dope! It makes sense that Megatron would have such an attachment with those stylings. Unlike shockwave labs, however, I may consider connecting underneath the arm since putting something on the outside of the forearm would hinder transformation.... ok ths is a good reference point. Maybe i'll have a loose chain and a wire variant.

On a side note, various paint manufacturers do not like to do clear purple sprays. Tamiya has a translucent purple spray for PC kits, which should never be used on anything that isn't PC (RC cars).

Mr. Hobby is the only hobby brand I know of that does clear purple but only in bottle paint form. One could airbrush that on afterward as brushing on may be a pain to do.

Before I started casting directly in clear purple, I would use a clear blue spray followed by clear red spray (if you want a more reddish purple, reverse order for more bluish purple, practice on scrap clear pieces first). Tamiya makes clear blue and red lacquer sprays.

I bought some x23 and x27 clear red and clear blue. will mix em to make a reddish purple and airbrush them. I HOPE this works? I had good success with the clear orange... Clear paints mix the same right?

For some reason, mixing the bottle paint red and blue doesn't work as well as it should. Last time I tried, I got a purplish poo color.

Once I find some time I’ll take some orders. These take a little more time and have more parts. :)  thanks for waiting! Alternatively, if you have a printer you can pull print files off of the drive.

These projects look great! I'd deffinately pick up the mace and sword for Megatron, as well as OP's Ion Blaster if you were to make them.

Can you post some instructions on the assembly of the sword? I can't figure out what the grooves on the inner surface the Pommel Base are for. I printed in ABS-like resin and used a bit of PETG filament to connect the Blade and the swively bit. Is it the pommel a friction hold or do those grooves lock it together somehow?
