I was walking through my local TRU the other day and noticed that at the end of what I call the "collector's aisle" there were the little preordering cards that they usually have for preordering video games.

Upon further notice, I saw that these cards were for preordering the collectors figures that usually go in the "collector's aisle" such as movie figures, video game figures, and sports figures.

It's the first time that I've seen any retail store offer preordering on toys and it had me wondering if it was possible for TRU to apply that to mainstream toys as well.

Granted the mainstream items are far more in terms of volume but why couldn't they do it for TRU Exclusives like MP Grimlock, Animated Rodimus, and Animated Ratchet?

That alone could help tremendously in terms of preventing scalping. It'd also help collectors save gas money. I know I check my TRUs every Tuesday and Thursday but if there was an option to simply preorder an Animated Rodimus and Ironhide, I'd just wait for them to call me when they get in.

Hopefully TRU will develop the toy preordering option further.

that would be the best thing evv-uurrr. Not that I care, but they might even be able to use pre-orders to gauge demand for an item.

yea, there was an article about them starting to do this months ago (I think around a half year or more). My TRU put up a display for it, but never filled it with the forms (that I saw), and it was later taken down. It would be nice if they did it with quantity limits, etc. Im sure there will be glitches, people working around the system, employees not filling orders, but it is nice that they may be attempting something.
