TRU.com removes MP Grimlock from their web site & search list. TRU.COM also changed it's free shipping policy. now you have to buy up to $75 worth of items to get free shipping. instead of paying up to $49.99 to get free shipping. I just went to the TRU.com web site early this morning on july 12,2010. I typed in Grimlock in the TRU search listing. I got a message that said zero results found. upon further investgating,I typed in Transformers in the search bar. I saw a looked at a few pages worth of transformers listings. there was no grimlock listing on the site & no pic. So what does this mean for those Transformers fans hoping to get MP Grimlock on the TRU.com web site? It certainly isn't a good sign at all. whether TRU.com decides to restock or not remains a mystery at this point. This is just another reason why Toys R Us is perhaps the worth chain retail store in america to have Transformers store exclusives. Target & walmart get transformers store exclusives in much higher volume & on more set scheduled release dates. As of lately TRU appears to be getting lesser volume units of Transformers store exclusives with every passing season or year. TRU also appears to have more employees who are more scalpers & hide the desired toys in the back stock room. TRU store employess are known for have hidden spots in the back stock rooms to hide desired toys they know will be worth profits on ebay. Some of the TRU store employees will hide toys in the back, then wait for pay day/their check to buy the hidden toys. then sell them on ebay. Yeah I realize every store will have employees buying up the rare figures. however stores like target, walmart & kmart don't allow it's employees to hide toys in the back in hidden spots. other stores have managers & supervisors that are on top of this sort of thing & don't allow the employees to buy up the desired/rare toys in the dozens or bulk. TRU apparently doesn't care & allows its employees to buy truck loads of rare/desired & low volume toys with any higher manager or supervisor saying anything.
just be grateful that TRU will atleast do a store room check....more and more targets are placing signs up about collectible and rare figures being first come first serve and that their employees will not check the back stock room for toys or hold any toys for any person... The target here started to place these signs up a year ago...and finally are now enforcing it...if you ask for them to check...they will just respond with the " if you do not see it on the shelf, then we are out of it or it is not for sale yet" answer.
I understand that policy to a point. If it is an assortment of figures, and 1 out of 12 is missing, and that is the one you want, yes, I completely agree about not bringing out another case. But, if there are none on the shelf, and no street date, and THEY DO have them in the back, then they should be willing to bring them out. How good is product sitting in the back without selling it?
I'm not sure if you not worried about getting them from the site or worried about just not getting them at all. As for the site, I don't know. I don;t do online shopping so I don't know the history of their listings. As for in store. Just wait, they will be there. TRU is always spotted for the first couple months of an exclusive. The G1 reissues and Animated Arcee showed us that. Everyone was worried thet there would only be a wave or two and that is it. But time has showed us that they would be shelfwarmers just like anything else. My advice is to just have patience. Come Christmas, they'll be there. Not everyone is anxious to shell out 70 bucks for toys. MP Skywarp showed us that.
This happened many times before. Animated Arcee was in stock, out of stock, removed, then put back in stock, then removed again. This also happened for Generations figures during the BOGO sale and they're back online.
^ So I take it that means no luck yet Metal Chaos at finding/obtaining one? I only ask because trust me, I feel the dino need too, and have seen your posts, and have run into the same brick wall. Just waiting for him to show up on the shelves has been maddening. Especially holding onto cash that's burning a hole in my pocket.
