I've heard horror stories about TRU.com being notorious for bad packaging practices, and I'm a little worried about the MP Prime I ordered that is due to arrive in 3 days.
I'd like to get some feedback from people that already received theirs, so I have an idea what to expect.

    Thanks in advance.

My MP Thundercracker was just in a box. No packing materials whatsoever.

Figure, and even the box, were in pristine condition, but I wouldn't be surprised if my MP Optimus comes in a slightly dented box. Even so, I'm not worried about the figure itself being damaged.

Same...despite sometimes little to no packing materials.

Items usually arrive in good shape - packing is a toss up, almost always airbags which are sometimes inflated. And there's never enough airbags to properly ship the toy to ensure no damage. TRU shipping is a crapshoot.

Haven't had a problem yet. My TC came in a box with no packing material and was sliding around, but came in fine. My MP-10s came in the original Hasbro box and it was in great condition.

Just got MP10 from them yesterday. No packing material whatsoever but still arrived fine. I wouldn't count on a mint package though as the box they used on mine had plenty of room to slide around in.

Mine had packaging material but the box looked like it was kicked around. I have been having problems with usps lately. I have received several boxes that looked beat to shit. Luckily the figure inside was undamaged.

Oh god. I ordered MP Thundercracker from TRU the other day. I hope it survives the trip to the UK...

Got my MP Prime in a huge box with no padding. It was fine, though.

It's when stuff comes from fedex smartpost that you really have to worry, in my experience.

My MP-10 was shipped in an oversize box with a few air cushions tossed over MP-10 (like that's gonna help anything...). However it was quickly shipped and UPS is usually good about packages given it is their forte. Mine arrived fine.

Got my MP Prime today. The only padding material was one of those tiny plastic air cushions and a piece of paper, if you count the receipt. The corner of the box was smashed, but luckily MP Prime's box itself (and the figure inside) were fine.

For comparison's sake, with my recent orders:

MP Thundercracker - arrived safe and sound, with plenty of padding

Generations GDO Deluxes (3) + GDO Legends - arrived in solid condition, with plenty of padding...there was a bit of crease on Springer's card but nothing devastating

Generations GDO Hot Spot (plus an Ewok five-pack) - arrived in perfect condition, with NO padding this time around

I have my fingers crossed that my Optimus will arrive just fine. To date I haven't had a horror story regarding TRU's packaging (or lack of it) and it hurting my purchase, and this would be a helluva time to start now.

I got my Prime in a very thin cardboard box. Thankfully it didn't rain because that thing was on my porch for a bit, but the box was an fair shape, one was depressed a little but no damage to the box inside. One thing to not though. The clear plastic in the box of prime looked a little scratched, not big huge scrapes, but a cluster of tiny ones all over. Most likely this is because Prime had an inch of clearance inside the box so he slid around, but my box was the perfect thickness. He did not bounce around thankfully! I got Thundercracker at the store and his plastic turned out the same way. Oh well, for the price I got him it was well worth it!

My TRU MP Prime arrived in an oversized box with an air cushion just like everyone else. The packaging and the figure were fine and had no damage in my case.

My MP Prime had a perfect box that got cut up and crushed in the trash compactor after I freed everything from the prison. :D

No padding at all---Prime's box placed into the outer shipping box. Well, the invoice and an evelope full of non-related coupons was in there too, but that was it.

    It was fine though.
