Oh cool. So it's an alt on either side that opens into a full sized bot card like the combiner components.
Kinda meh on the stats. especially for SRT's with such a high star cost. I don't know if I'd use Blitzwing's Brave tank ability without more defense on him. And Springer is versatile, but I'm trying to think of a good strategy around him.
Four super rares in one wave? Great.
Yeah, more Super Rares just kinda killed my hype for the game. Just obtaining 2 was bad enough. Fucking predatory bullshit.
I must have missed a reveal, I saw Starscream but who is the other one? Also, is anyone keeping track of the reveals and compiling a checklist?
Combiner Hunter Windblade.
TCGs having rare game pieces is the nature of the beast. It's not "predatory". You won't see Magic players complaining about their odds of getting 4 Mythic Rares per a box of 540 cards. That's just how it is.
I think it just seems worse with the TF game because its such a small set and you only get 1 character card per pack, with 9 out 10 packs containing Sergeant Kup.
Ok... The CARDS have Blitzwing as a triple changer But n0t The M0Vi3!!!!
If each super rare is one out of 79, does that mean that on average we can expect to see one super rare out of every 20 boosters or so?
I have yet to catch a super rare after opening about 60 packs in wave 1, so chance should be on my side.
These cards are so weird. I wish they would make regular trading cards with bios on the back instead of the stupid game. Those I would be more interested in collecting.
Yeah, I have decided that Super rates aren’t worth the money unless I plan to play really competively. I’ll go complete on all the other cards though. I am happy with just two of each rare battle card. Some of the battle cards with two (or more?) pips are also rising in value and not really worth it to me.
SRT is bullshit. You shouldn't have to buy 2+ boxes and hope to get one or spend close to $100 for a piece of cardstock. Some people just want to have these characters. With 4 SRTs in this wave, enjoy buying probably 8+ boxes and pray to god you get all 4.
While it would never happen, Hasbro should release a set that has all the Rares and SRT cards with all the same game text but different pictures. This way, the people with the rare cards still have the value in them but everyone can have the characters.
That typically is not how it works though - reprints almost always drive down the cost of all printings of the card (which is how it should be. If it's a good or desirable card, it shouldn't be prohibitively expensive. You won't see reprints for this game unless certain cards get very expensive and they're necessary for competitive play.
They wouldn't be straight reprints. The artwork would be different. Different so nobody would mistake the rare card for the easy to get one. Thus, someone with SRT Blitzwing would still have a super rare blitzwing but people who just want to play using blitzwing will have an easy to get one.
You're missing the point - if the cards are functionally identical, and people want it because it's a good game piece, (i.e. people want to use it like you said) the art doesn't matter. Increase in supply will drop the price.
Happens all the time in Magic. Take an old, expensive, and useful card from the 90's, print it again with fresh art. Both versions aren't anywhere near as valuable as the old one was originally, because there's more to go around.
Then make a minor change to the stats. Maybe extra star on the common card or health # is lower. Something that makes the rare card better to use. Could probably just leave the text box blank for the common card if the other status are the same.
As I said, 4 Super rares just sidetracked my excitement. 9% of this wave is now SR. And if they stick to a 1/72 ratio, that means you are looking at 9 1/2 booster boxes to get them all if it works out perfectly.
I’m still excited about the rest of the game but the reason I never got into card gaming was this exact thing. My collector nature is to strong
Yeah, it is on the whole unfortunate that this is a TCG vs a LCG.
