I thought the reason Generations Nightbeat wasn't a Headmaster was because he was too small. If that isn't the case... why the heck wasn't he a Headmaster?

Probably couldn't work the gimmick into the mold without suffering from design flaws.

As for deluxe Headmasters, guess the modern equivalent would Armada Sideways.

At any rate, I'll probably end up getting the Titan Wars Headmasters, but keeping my Function-X stuff too. They're all incredibly well-made figures and I don't even mind the creative license with guys like Sigma L.

If Brainstorm was a "teaser" for more Headmasters, well...I quite like the Gen Brainstorm figure, so bring it!

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't take much remolding to make a Headmaster fit.

You're comparing a $10-15 mass retail toy to a $90-100 third party collectible.

No the reason Generations Nightbeat wasn't a headmaster was they didn't have the budget for it. There are Headmaster toys in Deluxe size. Wasn't Armada Sideways a Deluxe doubel Headmaster? Cost $10 about a decade ago?

    Hmm....

Glad to see Dudicus Bruticus is getting his due. Hopefully he will have the Blast Off mold.

I dunno how to feel about a deluxe Brainstorm. I don't own the Voyager figure from last year and I don't know the scale for these deluxes.....

    Mindwipe and Weirdwolf...oh hell yes.

Honestly, I don't think I'd want a deluxed sized bot be a headmaster, that head would be microscopic. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind a Voyager sized headmaster Nightbeat like Brainstorm got.

The FansProject Function line is about Deluxe size, and the Headmasters look and work just great. Better than Voyager Brainstorm's, if we're being honest.

True, but so do Toyworld's Headmasters. The deluxe size might be allright for the likes of Siren, Squeezeplay and Nightbeat, but the 87 Headmasters really need to be Voyagers. Offcourse... that is only true if we are talking about updated toys of the G1 characters. IDW Chromedome, Brainstorm and Nightbeat would probably be better served with a large Deluxe size.

Personally i was very excited when the Headmasters where rumored to be Voyagers, if they turn out to be Deluxes, i'm gonna go Toyworld all the way.
But i'm still hyped that we're getting Mindwipe and Weirdwolf offcourse ;)

G2 Bruticus is nice, but i'm also hoping for a Ruination redeco to go with my Sky-Byte and Scourge :)

Just Had a thought about the line up of the Headmaster figures. If they are including characters like Horri-Bull and Squeezeplay does that mean that we may get a Fangry in the future? Stemming off of that you could remold and retool Fangry into Grotusque as both have similar alt-modes in beast design.

I think you might be on to something there.

What better way to soften the blow of a price deluxe than to cal it a Titan Deluxe, but with tons of added play value?

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this but if the rumours are true and we are getting some of the 86 movie cast as deluxes I don't think it's a coincidence that scourge and blurr (two targetmasters) have been mentioned. Seems likely they would keep all figures in line with the playstyle of having at least one small buddy figure.

We've also seen them use this strategy to boost prices just look at the reduction of product between powercore two packs to legends two packs and then on to legends singles with the same price tag

Maybe they tested interest in the character with the repaint and now give us the real thing.

I wonder if there's any chance for a new Deluxe Cyclonus? I like the Universe one fine, but there's room for improvement... and the CW one is a wasted attempt.
