Since the transformium concept greatly reduces the difficulty of having to explain where every part of the vehicle goes in transformations, do you think this could lead to ILM being willing to tackle another behemoth like Devestator but perhaps in a more humanoid way?

For instance, Lockdown had a prison ship and as we saw, he extracted sparks from victims, maybe the combaticon sparks can be discovered by Galvatron and he builds new bodies for them and they can "combine" In the cheap particle way... I mean, that's not as fun to watch as straight up combining the normal way, but I would just be happy to see Bruticus or someone similar in the movieverse. Plus, hasbro has stated how they are bringing back Combiners in 2015 so I'm sure the idea will be on the table...

How do you feel about this possible approach down the line in future movie installments?

to be honest.. my only complain about this movie is the way that the human built transformers transform.. i really hope they cut that shit out of the next movie.

i'm still curious as to why they did it that way at all.. was it just an easy cost cutting effort?..

anyways.. i like the idea of the combaticons.. but again, no more non transforming transformers.

As the movies are their own thing, perhaps they thought that it would be a nice, cool thing to do. I find it annoying that people can't get use to it.

I'll admit.... Regardless of how terrible the transformium effects looks in AOE for most of the bots.

This does kind of make it easier for a combiner to be in the Transformers movies.

While I agree that it would be much easier to do.
I still think the classic shifting of parts and combining would go over much more nicely with the fans. Devs in ROTF was not used well as is the case with all of Bays big "set pieces". Bu the combining transformation IMO was the best part of Devs. I want to see the more labored, intricate merging of a combiner. I don't want to see 6 or more TFs all burst into this digital crap, blob together and out comes a larger combined TF. Junkheap being 3 that formed 1 alt mode was cool but the digital block transformation took away from what really could have been a very cool looking split and transformation IMO.

Meh, maybe. Though it means they'll never be able to make toys that come close to accurately transforming and combining. Again. I kind of got over the whole combiner thing anyway once almost every other sub group in G1 seemed to be a combiner team, it kind of devalued the wow factor and novelty that came with the Constucticons combining, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's the same reason why they'd not be too quick to use another combiner in the movies, for the simple matter of lack of impact, even if it is done with the particle style transformation.

I think the Transformium transformations are a good way of separating the man-made Transformers from the real, Cybertronian Transformers. As for the topic at hand, I wouldn't mind seeing more combiners, but I really liked how Devastator in ROTF was sort of hunched and misshaped, due to the strain of combining. It was a great way of showing how combinations could be a painful ordeal for a team of Transformers. (I suppose that's another opportunity ROTF missed)

Orrr maybe people just aren't fans of Transformers that don't actually transform. It's like they tried to come up with something even lamer than the Beast Machines morphing.

Its certainly where your stunticons will come from judging from the way they flow like the wind while they transform could actually get some real awesome scenes that way

I liked it to, it differentiated the human made bots to the actual bots we all know and love, except Galvatron who undoubtedly will "fix" himself.

    Apparently the do transform.

Yes, I'm being a little facetious, but still they technically do change form regardless of the mechanics of the process, and it's not quite the same as just magically changing in appearance like Diaval the raven in Maleficent.

They could if they only used Kre-O. They're the ultimate parts-formers.

I would like more combiners but certainly not something like Revenge of the Fallen Devastator

    The Combiner factor

Agreed. What combiner force would me more perfect (for Bay's action sensibilities) than the Stunticons? Bring on Menasor!

Considering Galvatron is the only one left that was man made, I'm assuming he'll be the only one with that ability for the rest of the trilogy.
