What can I say - I got inspired by Magnus's thread (hey, it's been a while since we had a thread like this)...So...what transformers have you bought/been bough that you didn't really want or that turned out to be a massive disapointment?

For me it'd have to be the only movieverse figure I ever bought - Mindset. I had roughly $4000 spending money after the bills were paid so I picked this guy up thinking "was this the guy that could double as straxus's throne, or was it the guy who could fit in to classics acording to the tfw2005 forum? Meh, regardless - best pick him up and see for myself."

So, I open him on the train to the airport, transformed him once and then promptly threw him in the nearest trashcan along with his packaging.

Why in the world would you not either just return the figure or try and sell it if you didn't like it that much?

    DotM Starscream.

Not because he is a bad figure, he a good one, it's just he is so wildly out of scale with my other figs that I don't have a space for him. I knew it when I saw him, but I couldn't resist the pull of buying him. It was a dumb move.

Or even give it to some kid... it's not even as if it's a bad mold.

(also, not to attack the OP but I just found it funny: "I had like $4000 to spend, so I bought a deluxe. I earned it.")

I don't return dlxs unless they are broken. Who wants a non-sealed dlx bubble?

    What the...?!?!?!

Anyway, got that scout Scattorshot that'd been loitering in Dollar General for a long time. Now I know why it's there.

Multiples of Movie Starscreams! Ahhh! What was I thinking? I don't like them enough to buy one, let alone two or three of each. I was going through my collection recently, and they keep spawning, it's like why do I have this, why do I have two of these? Why do I have three of these? I don't even like the movie. I could try and sell them, but no one would buy them. :lol

nearly all my classics. They appeal so much in the box, but bore me within hours of opening them for the most part. Thats why I rely on MPs and straight up old fashioned G1 to represent the characters I love. Its why I actually enjoyed PCC. New characters.

    Just gonna answer some questions:

Well since I had opened it returning the fig seemed out of the question, even if I could, just getting back to the toystore in question would cost way more than what the figure ran me. And as for selling - nah I live in sweden - Imagine trying to sell an opened toy in sweden when a mosc one can be bought for less than $10 online - the shipping (both national and international shipping) costing more than what the unopened figure costs.

Don't really know any kids around that age - most of my mates's kids are around newborn - 5 years old (both five year olds being girls)

I could have walked up to the first best kid I saw and given him one...but with the airport having not 1, but 2 poster campaigns about missing children and anti sex-travel going it just didn't seem like it was the best time to do so.

I see how that can look a little bit funny, I should probably have phrased myself better - I normally have around that to spend after bills are paid, I didn't want to brag or anything - I just thought I'd add it to give some perspective on why I wasn't that fussed about what I got - aparantly that failed catastrophically though, but rest assured - I got loads of other stuff as well.

Hospitals, Shelters, Dentist's offices, all are pretty much always looking for gently-used toys.

Might be a culture thing, but Sweden is either the highest or second highest when it comes to paying taxes in the world (I keep forgetting which it is) so we don't really have the the same mindset as other countries when it comes to donating things as our taxes more than covers it, there's never really a shortage of toys at those kinds of places - at least not in my experience, which is why the thought never occured to me, but now I know - thanks.

I can say that Movie 1 Concept Bee was great when I bought him,but later on after HA Bee came out that deluxe fig of him turned into a POS,so being the type I am I gave deluxe Bee to my nephew,so I don't know where it is now,but he's not in my collection anymore.
