This reboot has been a wreck man.

Bumblebee casts the sin of “transformers is somehow behind everything that’s important in history” schtick that TLK had away, ends with the perfect setup for the autobots to regroup on earth, only for the sequel to be a side mission of them fucking off to Peru and now there’s fucking GI Joes

What even is happening now? Why haven’t we seen Megatron (aside from the Turbo changer and SS toy)? Why can’t they just make a straightforward follow up?

Bravo Hasbro, because Paramount is who you'd want handling Gijoe, especially with their amazing track record.

To be fair, the internet was created in the 70s so it’s safe to say the Shatter and Dropkick created their own interconnected network separate to ours.

I'm all for trying new things with the franchise, but I just think we went from 0-100 super super quick here.

Bumblebee as you said was super straightforward and small-scale so it was something to easily build on top of, and all of a sudden we have Unicron, Maximals, and GI Joe all in the mix by the end of the very next movie. I just hope they can avoid things getting too overstuffed.

I feel like this movie is either gonna be the biggest hit or biggest miss we’ve had in a long time, in terms of live action movies

Not surprised. Want to see where it goes, but not confident in Paramount to not reduce the bots screen time and relegate them to background props again. ROTB had its issues, but at least they seemed to be getting the bot-human ratio to a better place.

For sure! One of the things the live action films have struggled with is how to incorporate humans when they're on Earth. The stuff that usually works best is when military types get involved...because it would make sense.

So having the Joes be the conduit through which the humans are involved at least gives them more a reason to hang around once the fighting starts.

How was it Iron Giant? If anything it was the usual "kid meets alien and goes on adventure" story with robots.

(Also it was a good movie.)

Yup, it won’t or at least shouldn’t feel like the humans are out of place in battles etc, could make for some dope scenes. Maybe some headmaster gi joe type combinations too

According to the article, Steven will return as director, which I'm very happy about! ROTB is my favorite live action transformers movie, and I can't wait to see what the sequel will bring!

Be kinda cool if we got big figures with compatible O-ring Joe's like the current collab figures. But with the onscreen alt modes. So o-ring scaled Camero Bee for example.

Then you also get the Studio Series Offerings and probably 6 inch Classified offerings too.
