I look at it this way, if they made more figures in the line, but they were actually GOOD and not hollow like this, then I want them to succeed. But if future figures would be horrible hollow messes like this guy, I want it to fail. Hopefully that makes sense

I hope so if they cant then im out, dont wanna start another 3'75 joe collection because hasbro wants to make inferior figures that look like potatoes and have limited articulation.

I would assume so as that's what the packed in Baroness is. And they said this was built to be scale with the original toy so I'd assume it's compatible with vintage if any of your o-ring figures are still standing.

Yeah, we get it. We got it. Hours ago.

All in all, I'd say this looks really sharp. Wonder what other irons will be in the fire.

Hasbro doesn't care about 3P if they don't release conflicting products. If you buy upgrade kits you're still buying their figures.

They live for that stuff. It helps them continue selling figures to people who hate hollow stuff but keep buying it anyway.

Like the Ninjago Ninja Ultra Combo Mech, which was released this year, costs the same price, and features a 4-piece combiner where the individual components actually combine instead of reassembling.

Exactly. When you look at other stuff you can get for $90, especially lego, this figure becomes more and more questionable. Man now I want to buy some lego…

This looks fine to me. Could it have been done better? Yeah. Still getting it.
I'm surprised they didn't use a pre-existing mold and did the Crimson Guard C.A.T.

Could have used CW Megatron as a base. Little tweeking here and there. Put a new head on him that looks like a Crimson Guard. No place to put a figure, but that wouldn't bother me.

I think more people would have been on board for that as a first GI Joe/TF offering.

Skipping this, but I'm curious to see if they'll do more with this collab. Perhaps if it was the Skystriker or Night Raven...

That's why I specified a new crossover line be with 2.5"/2" human figures compatibility, not 3.75". If it's 3.75"/ARAH compatible, the Joe team would most likely remain in control and continue prioritizing strict ARAH adherence over the actual Transformers' bot modes; at the smaller scale, the Transformers team would hopefully have more control or be in control. One team produces more Joe/Transformers toys like this, which is clearly a HISS Megatron instead of a Megatron HISS; the other would hopefully give us Transformers/Joe toys like an actual Megatron who chose a HISS (or whatever) mode.

But I think most everyone here would agree that any future Transformers/Joe crossovers after Project Trooper 2 (which is likely already completely finalized) needs to prioritize the bot mode engineering and solidity/finish over picture perfect Joe/Cobra vehicle modes.

I might be wrong, but knowing Hasbro's usual MO, I think we're more likely to see better-executed GI Joe TFs later on if this does well than if it does badly. If it does badly, their main takeaway would probably be 'huh, I guess no one wanted a GI Joe crossover after all', not 'oops, we should've put even more money into developing that figure'.

A modern Baroness might not fit, it depends on how tight the cockpit is. The vintage HISS tank was retooled in the 2000's to have a deeper cockpit and that one fits modern figures. I would assume they made this one compatible with both, but there's no guarantee.

This looks awesome and I will buy it. I generally hate crossovers, but this has been a toy myself and a lot of people would've wanted for a long time. Clearly, some concessions were made on Megatron's robot mode, but the overall product is nice enough to make up for it. I especially like that Baroness can ride in the HISS turret while Megatron's in robot mode, meaning the toys can interact in both modes.

Also, reissuing the o-ring Baroness is very nice, the vintage one goes for way too much now.

    I'm really excited for this.

Hasbro is weird, because that is totally one of the ways they look at it. They can also look at it as “ah cool people will happily pay $90 for a figure that costs basically nothing to make”. It’s complicated in terms of whether I want it to do well or not…

Well if it’s not for you, that’s ok. Not everyone has to like everything.
I, personally, like it and the (what I consider) minor gripes that people have mentioned don’t bother me.
It certainly isn’t perfect but for what it does accomplish, I think it looks good.
