anyone know what the case ratio on those guys is? I figured Optimus would be weighted more heavily if Megs & Sound are his case-mates

Technically, walmart has trouble delivering locally.

 

Look closer, it looks like the entire alt mode is in fact painted to look like brushed stainless steel. My first thought was actually that the paint in alt mode looks great

 

Is anyone else seeing like vaguely cubist human shapes in that crap behind the windshield? Its messing with my head. I'm like, "Damn, those are the laziest people models I've ever seen."

 

Would've made more sense to use the Wheeljack mold IMO seeing as how he's the science guy, but I guess they could've used one of the studio series cars as a base mold. They're milking these WFC molds to death.

 

I couldn't care less about BTTF, but I see a Sideswipe with gullwing doors and I know what I'm gonna do with it.

 

Doesn't matter - it's certain ToyHax will release a sticker set to cover the windshield, and in this case I'm absolutely going to get it. The default looks awful but I'm really excited for it otherwise.

 

If you search back in the Target thread, it's a "rinse and repeat" of how everyone panicked about the Siege Rainmakers, only later to find them shelfwarming and even discounted at some stores.

We tend to have difficulty remembering into our own pasts.

If it's screwed in, I might try to paint the outside of that bot frame stuff black and keep the windshield clear, but if it's glued in as it looks, I'm thinking a piece of cling tint cut-fit to the front and side "glass".

I don't think it's painted, it's molded with those lines and the photographer got clever. You can tell because you can see an injection dye swirl on the front right quarterpanel, and in the pics that are on the white background there's no color to those parts.

So the figure's name is Gigawatt but just so we're all clear, we're pronouncing that "Jigawatt," right? Also, I'm gonna' need a downsized version at 1:4.76 size so I can put them together and call them 1.21 Gigawatts

This is true, my wife debated the purchase for at least a couple weeks before ultimately ordering it.

 

sort of surprised Hasbro/Takara didn't do a bit more retooling to allow the more interesting car parts face front in robot mode instead of the boring flat panels...pretty much every fan-made interpretation has the exhaust vents on the front of the legs...

 

It was. People were waiting for the black friday sales that typically happen, and then it sold out.
Every other related exclusive on amazon still hasn't sold out.

 

The near perfect rectangle that is the Delorean hood makes an awful, awful robot chest. Not a very impressive piece.

Also, they keep posing him looking at his wrist. You think they’d at least sculpt a watch on it.

 

I never saw or heard of the Rainmakers shelf-warming or going on clearance. I did see them in stores 2-3 times, generally with only one on the shelf that wouldn't be there the next time I visited. Absolutely a far cry from the Cyberverse Quint packs that ARE generally shelf-warming, in comparison.
