If the only difference is a numbered release, I'm glad the pulse release is coming up.

FunPub did that all the time. 5pm on Friday exclusives go-live, no customer service until Monday morning.

I'm PREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTY sure that the only difference between the "Walmart" version and the "Pulse/everyone else" version is going to be the license plate exclusivity numbering.

One is not going to have more/less accessories and the box probably will still have that retro G1 look regardless.

    Just my guess

The Social Media team isn't going to push anything that doesn't first go through the communications/PR team...and the PR team is not going to be giving detailed updates on a technical issue.

I work in tech, and I assure you there is an alarm going off over on the tech side. But they're not going to waste time giving PR/comms a minute by minute update because they're busy TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HAPPENED.

    One of two things happened:
    1. The date changed at the last minute and tech team at Walmart didn't get the memo.
    2. The date changed at the last minute and the comms team at Hasbro didn't get the memo.

If you need to change a preorder address...because you pre ordered months before release, then release was pushed back and you moved...You have to create a new order you can't change your current order's destination address. If the item you pre order is sold out, you are SOL and can't order it again.

i truly hope this is correct, like the "first edition" white box Star Wars Black figures. but it's dirty pool either way on Hasbro's part to not give us any info at all.

For a “family friendly” company like Hasbro, got to love the juxtaposition of this article tho lol :lol  :lolol

Hmm... it’s alright. Not worth passing up.

    When are pre-orders?

One would think that simply pulling the post while the backend is being sorted out would have been the play

Doubt either department is aware there is a problem, esp if it's Walmart's end.

In their defense, Gigawatt is pretty busty.

I think it's plausible it's tomorrow. Perhaps someone in PR over there jumped the gun.

So are there any actual differences between the Pulse and Walmart versions, besides the license plate thing?

What good is "pulling the post" when it's over on Mashable and all over the internet already. The fact Mashable broke the story with promo pics (As an exclusive no less) tells me this was a coordinate media roll out aimed at doing it today.

The most likely botch is that Walmart saw whatever initial info Mashable saw to make it think the launch was tomorrow and now they're racing to fix it. But that's not on Hasbro.

The anger right now on this forum is hilarious.

I mean, it's possible...but Mashable also ran their exclusive reveal and that was likely time-boxed for today as part of the agreement. And they're not going to screw that up since that would hurt any future exclusives.
