More convoluted, and probably more appropriate for those who use that date format, but I'll accept :D

That's not the actual price, though. You're probably looking at a 3rd party listing.

    What $60 Target one?

Does Target have a $60 update of Gigawatt coming up like they already did with Ectotron?

Got mine from Walmart online - looks like they made the windshield and windows darker since you cant see the inside, looks better!

So what exactly is the difference between the two figures? Is it just the box?

That's been common knowledge from the beginning. Only those wanting drama were angsty over the WalMart Exclusive.

I wasn't aware of the differences as I haven't been keeping up with the news on this figure. I wasn't trying to start drama, I was only curious if there were benefits to buying this version over the main release

Oh, I know you weren't looking to stir the pot or anything. That was not the intent of the reply.

But since the figure was announced it was noted that WalMart would see an exclusive box limited to 1985 units and people have been wringing their hands in frustration that those 1985 were "super more most importantest" than the mass release that went up for preorder a month later.

Ohh, sorry. I misinterpreted the intention of your reply.

Yeah, I can sort of understand the frustration, especially with scalpers, but at least it's only a difference of the box

To me, I really do appreciate the G1-ness of both boxes and they're both very beautiful presentations.

The differences in the boxes and also the irrelevant serial number added to one of them is minimal at best and completely meanless to me because I, like most other collectors, take my figures out of the box and store the boxes away in a tote somewhere.

I don't care as much about a box that's mostly out of sight and out of mind.

How hard is it to get behind the windshield to possibly tint it darker?

i found a lone gigawatt at target today. he was in the collectables section next to the BTTF RC Time Machines they sell. i was stumped as to whether it was a regular retail item, or an abandoned online order. either way i was pleased to find him. i wasnt planning on getting him, but im really impressed with the molded detail. looks like a great figure. i thought the $30 price tag was a bit steep though. so at checkout i asked for a price reduction, for regular deluxe price. the employee gave me a $10 discount. got it for $19.99:)

IMO There is no need to tint the windshield darker. Both versions are tinted and are plenty dark enough.
Congrats on the amazing deal. He's worth every bit of $29.99 and is an absolute steal at $20.

You are now a proud owner of one of the best transformers figures of all time.

I also got my Gigawatt today from Gerrutcamaro, except my total shipped price was about 64 USD. For a glorified deluxe with slightly nicer details and a retro box. :banghead:

One person gets lucky, another person gets ripped in this hobby.
Not being a US citizen I'm also generally in the second group.
Oh wait... I remember I once got a discount of a few euros on a Primemaster :lol

Hold on - you thought MSRP was too expensive, so you just... asked them to sell it to you for less? And they agreed?
