I would absolutely love to work on Transformers films someday. Don't know if it will ever happen, but I think it would be super cool to design a Transformer that appears on screen.

Do we even know what actors are in this film?

For it to be starting in July.... a lot of shit has to be decided upon already. Human and robot cast.

Why did you write your post twice. Anyways they said that they want a Zoe kravitz type actress and we might get a cast reveal possibly in the next 2-3 months

    YouTube (Legacy):
No, it does not mean part 7 like mentioned in this thread or many times before in past threads. It is a reboot (and rumored to be in the Bumblebee universe for now).

This. It doesn't even make sense if we're counting the number of Bayverse films released (5).

I wouldn't say Charlie is secondary in BB, in fact, she has a lot more focus than the title character

I hope they wouldn’t waste another chance at a big budget TF movie on continuing that pointless story line. But who knows.

Bumblebee had a working title of “Transformers 6”, but it ended up being a completely different universe entirely. “Transformers 7” is likely taking place in the Bumblebee universe and will have the finalized name revealed before it releases in 2022.

I wonder if they'll go the direction of the latest Star Wars live action productions and use Unreal Engine for live rendering while filming. I don't know if that image is from this particular production, and if it is it seems they aren't doing the cylindrical screen thing. Just seems to me that it'd be hard to go from almost all practical effects and sets with the robots edited in, to 100% green screened. Using something like Unreal Engine while filming would at least bring back some of that immediate feedback for the actors and everyone involved.

Edit: Also with how fragile American politics and social issues are nowadays, who knows how clusterfucked the plot of the movie will be.

I'm not so sure about that. Recently, I introduced a friend of mine to the G1 cartoon. He wasn't a TF fan growing up, but he quite enjoyed the retro aesthetic. Similarly, I quite enjoy Showa-era monster movies, all the more because of their lack of modern Hollywood polish. What I'm getting at is that while what you say about new fans’ preferences is probably true in some cases, I don't think it can be taken as universal or axiomatic. After all, "new fans" aren't a hive-mind; they're individuals with their own thoughts and opinions, as such, I don't think any one of us can claim to speak for them all.

I'm looking forward to this film. I still think Michael Bay was the real reason they were so bad and I'm glad he is gone. I do like all 6 Transformers films to some degree. I also kind of wonder if this film will be more Indiana Jones type with them going to Peru, I thought that aspect from TLK even though was underused had potential. And no more army which I think Mr. Caple won't use.

Michael bay doesn’t write the films. He just oversees them and is the man behind the camera. There’s no denying that the movies are beautiful visually. If there’s anyone to blame over plot it would be the writers.

Don't get me wrong, I like his films. It's just that even though a writer could be bad, it's the directors job to elevate the script. For all we know, Christina Hodson wrote Bumblebee and her filmography isn't that good other than Bumblebee so it's safe to assume that Travis Knight made the script better. A good director can make a mediocre script good and a bad one decent. It's clear Michael Bay didn't care for that and I think I remember reading Bay saying during TLK that he was working on the script with the writers so it clear he had an input on what was written.
