For some time I have been learning to make weapons for Transformers. I make all the elements by hand. I am still working on some projects and others have already mastered. The worst thing, however, is hand-fitting, because figurines from different series have different tolerances of 5mm ports. It is hard to fit perfectly, but the worst is when the varnish or paint peels off the handle. The material I use is plexiglass and HIPS polystyrene. So much from me, I invite you to see photos. What do you think? Best Regards
Thanks! Styling I wanted to do something similar to the Grimlock shield from FOC. It's not finished yet, I am still working on the ax and hammer for this set. Also in progress Thanks! Thank You! I cut with a grinder, then file the blades with a file, at the end I reach everything with sandpaper and polish. Plexiglass is really nice to work and even after the toughest machining you can restore its shine. Hard to reach places are a problem
As far as tolerances go, when I design a 3d printed 5mm peg I usually use a taper. 2.45 mm top radius, 2.6 mm bottom radius, and 6mm height (or longer as necessary). I use the same tapered voids for 5mm peg holes. I love the energy shield, that's awesome!
