I think it would be fun to do that. Clean up the animation errors, add in/replace background characters that exist but wasn't shown that much or at all or was a mistake to begin with. Fix some continuity errors. Update the animation. It would be fun and something that hasn't been done before ( I think ) . Dream I know, but fun to dream. Carry on, back on topic.

 

I feel like until G1 gets a truly proper finale, we'll be stuck in a cycle. It would mean something to actually have G1 future proofed for reruns and then cap it off with actual torch passing to new characters.

I'm all for any incarnation that lacked a finale getting one and in the process the next batch of characters can get a direct torch pass from Cullen and Welker. Then we can move on.

 

Sorry, I was replying to someone who "fixed" one of my posts, and I was saying that they seed to forget that alot of G1 guys were just as lacking in character as some of the movie characters. Alot of G1 guys had maybe one noticable character traits from their bios but where otherwise not especially well-rounded.

Speaking of character, I really hope this Netflix series let's Optimus be more than a demi-god, devoid of anything but the most stern of personality, like how he was in TFPrime. Good Lord was that interpretation of his character boring as white bread.

 

Personally if they were going to retouch actual g1 in any way I’d rather they cut out a lot of the superfluous material and contradictory origins and make it an overall more coherent narrative. The biggest problem (aside from animation errors) with the show is the lack of seasonal arcs (which was common in 80s cartoons, that’s just how it was done) and the fact that continuity is not maintained from episode to episode

 

Looks watchable.
But I haven't been impressed by anything Rooster Teeth has done thus far, I don't see how this will be any different.

But it isn't immediately putting me off, so there's that.
Kinda wish Hasbro would find someone else to do the animation for a bit.

 

Animation wise, could they have atleast changed the characters faces to be more expressive? I get they are copied from the actual toys top to bottom including awkward backpack kibble, but the least they could've done is changed the faces.

Seriously, anyone who doesn't have a battle mask in this trailer looks like they are doing a "dull surprise face" drawn by Pat Lee fully printed into 3D. Look at Ultra Magnus during the torture scene, Ratchet during that talking scene, and even Bumblebee. Seems like their animation model choices have them stuck in a corner.

 

The writer of the Transformers War For Cybertron Siege; F.J. DeSanto was listening to my podcast and contacted the show to let us know that while we have a cast list, there is plenty of characters still yet to be revealed for the Siege season.

So plenty more characters and reveals to come
 

 

Guys, let’s please not condemn this thing until it’s out in the world. If it’s terrible, then I’m sure that will be the consensus. Until then, have an open mind.

Especially because, for a huge number of people, this is going to be THE prevalent version of Transformers. So you’ll be living with it for a while.

Not sure "plenty of characters" is the best thing for a show that consists of 6 half hour episodes...

 

I’ll watch it, if I like it I will say so, if I don’t I will say so.

 

I’m not worried about this. It beats being told this is a civil war being fought by two armies and only seeing a handful of characters in large, empty spaces.

 

That would be me. Yet I dont understand, what has the lack of development of characters in the G1 show, with what are Decepticons through and through in the Autobot casualty trash pile doing?

Aside the logical explanation/speculation of treating PoWs fairly, by the Autobots that is.

 

...wish they didn't all look like poorly-animated toys, but maybe the writing will make up for it...

 

I dont get why people get pissy about the models. If anything that shit should be the least concerned about. The story comes first.

 

there are a bunch of reason. But i will just keep it short: We watch a film, not reading a book.
And let talk about the story.The story is the last thing you can guarantee. And do you think how good can be if you can pick up something so bad at first glance ? The look is some of the easiest thing to done right.

 

This series worries me, I\'ll watch it just like I watched the other series. I just want it to watchable

 

The story, the voices are important ... but with those designs I am so happy(G1 Back!),for me that is the most important thing.

 

Maybe I'm just seeing this with my adult eyes
But it's not generating the excitement i was expecting to have
