Old TMNT comics are dark and gritty, and they're talking ninja turtles. Maybe you can't widen your imagination enough, but others can.

This... honestly looks a whole lot better than I thought it would!

This is the first trailer for the Siege series I've seen and, while it doesn't look great, I feel it does look quite good, particularly in the case of the character animations and how well they replicate the feel of the toy-line.

Will probably be a fairly enjoyable take on the pre-Earth Transformers story. I'm looking forward to it!

But Cullen is typically pretty flat and emotionless as prime these days

    It's a trailer.
It could be exactly be what you said (I'd even argue you are probably going to be right). But regardless, the trailer is to underline the main theme... the war.
Calling the trailer TOO dark and gritty is kinda dumb when the WFC/FOC games had the exact same tones and there was definitely a lot of other fun stuff in the games outside of the dark and gritty central tone/theme.

I typically expect trailers to be representative of the full product, or does that not apply for dark and mature shows?

I hope it does'nt become the prime wars trilogy. Fans wanted a "Dark and gritty show" and when it cane out they threw by the way side and regarded it as the worst show ever.

That can probably be chalked down as due to how he's directed, IIRC he was pretty effusive about the Devastation game Job because he "got to play Prime like a Superhero again".

...the voice acting, direction, and renderings look serviceable, which is more than the last series could claim...the actual animation looks bargain-bin, unfortunately...

How little Hasbro cared of the characters they created really showed in the 86 movie, where several day 1 characters are gunned down, then in literally the next scene we see a new guy (read: toy) and a peppy upbeat 80's song plays. It's really bizzare at times. Lol. People like to rag on the live-action movies for killing off characters for new toys, forgetting that's been Modus Operandi since 86.

What the heck is a Seeker and two reflectors doing into the wounded autobot scrap pile? Generics?

Other than that: Starscream....Stop possessing Shockwave will ya?

Anyway....Lets see what will come out of this. The focus on the macguffin and the fact that they digitized the toys 100% are not pleasant thoughts for me....

    Fixed that for you.

Hasbro as a whole just slacks off on putting the Cybertronian forms in any TF Media. It started with Prime, with the blatant earth kibble before they even scanned any earth vehicles, then just having full on earth vehicles on Cybertron before even arriving to earth in Cyberverse, and finally OP in the Bumblebee film has earth kibble even before arriving to earth once again.

High moon was great at doing Cybertronian designs... well, because they were the only ones who actually made them Cybertronians.

That’s fair, and honestly devastation is his best modern performance, but if Cullen can’t play prime “his” way then I’d rather them not spend the money on him honestly
