It'll be a mild shame if we don't get Snowcat from this mold in the Select line. I kind of think that's the perfect avenue for him, Cybertron Defense Hot Shot (that's the Hound head swap, right?), maybe Downshift from Sideswipe, etc

 

Downshift was the G1 Wheeljack looking one. I’d rather see Armada Wheeljack from Sideswipe. Maybe that’s who you meant...

 

Oh man, I’ve been putting off getting these a summer I collect lily masterpiece but it’s getting more and more difficult to not get them. This will look amazing as ratchet too and also Snowcat which it was obviously designed to to be retooled into. This is by far my favourite line

Its better than the others in alt mode. At least it looks somewhat Cybertronian. 

 

Oh yea, I'm loving this Ironhide. He might have some hollow spaces BUT at least this one can look other bots in the eye without any modifications unlike one of this other CHUG predecessors. He's definitely going to be a 100% buy and TFU 2.0 Ironhide is getting replaced on my Classics shelf. But now that I know the mold looks pretty good and is decent, it makes me even more excited to see Ratchet.

Ironhide looks good, if a little plain. Why are his tires gray? Seems like an odd choice when Prime, Hound, and Sideswipe all have black tires. I hope the inevitable Ratchet repaint has accents that are red-orange and not just red.

Also, what Prowl is that?

Sometimes I think these early reviews mean the figures will be out soon.

 

That torso swivel is neat, and the vehicle is more cybertronian than the other Siege/84 Autobots thusfar. I mean, it does this by more obviously being a folded up robot, but he doesn't look like a minivan or pickup truck with extra greebling.

I really hope that Walgreen's exclusive isn't the UW Ratchet instead...

 

I don’t get why G1 Ironhide is so hard to get right... this is arguebly the best version of him (I’m sure some would argue Masterpiece is better, but he has always looked really weird to me) and still he’s just looking off. Decent but off. Pretty sure it’s the shape of the torso.

The vehicle mode though... man, that’d need some work to even get to half-@$$ed. The feet hanging off the back are particular bad, and the lack of fluid lines/solid body panels is pretty janky looking... there’s no cohesion, it just looks like a bunch or robot limbs folded up somewhat rectangularly. And frustratingly it doesn’t look like it would have taken much to fix/improve that alt mode.

I’ll still probably get him if I can score him on sale, because I’ve got CW Ironhide as a stand-in and he’s a poor one (I disliked Uni2.0 Ratchet so much I passed on Ironhide).

What? You mean a universe where Sideswipe is an annoying blue car, Wheeljack is a black car turncoat, Mirage is a Decepticon boat, Ironhide is a young blue SUV, and Cyclonus is a helicopter?   I do love AEC for daring to be different.

 

I’ll give them an A for effort but damn, all this thing has to turn into is a fucking box....and it still looks off.

I love it! Ironhide has never looked better imo. I think the boxy old 'Space-Van' looks great too, actually. It suits him perfectly as the old-timer of the bunch. Really looking forward to Ratchet too!
