eh that's just dudes in mech suits...zoids vs gundam would be neat though....

if zoids are going to cross over i'd like to see them specifically against the beasts in eukaris for some beast on beast action. but which characters and which zoids would make it in? there's as ton of different series and characters just like with gundam...i know gundam could fall back in universal century for popularity but what's considered the go to zoids series?

 

One of the characters is reality warper, so there's that. And another can move the Sun. And then there's Starlight Glimmer...

It's been a few years since I last watched it, but the last MLP episode I saw featured a full-on Dragonball stylez beatdown between the main character and a giant, ancient demon centaur guy.

 

Exactly. What's the point of bringing back the property if you're going to change everything? You might as well create something entirely new. There are no expectations and nothing to be true to. The writers could do whatever they wanted and not upset older fans. The entertainment industry is ALWAYS doing these radical "in name only" remakes, but what are cases when this ever worked?

Back on topic, I'm worried the writer will be all "lol magic is magic, ain't gotta explain anything" and just use that to excuse any bull crap that happens with these guys.

well okay....here's the thing..i see your point to an extent. there are some properties out there that have a huge history and if you bring it back and change everything i can see the problem because then it is 'in name only'. the movie Wanted comes to mind. very loose with the characters of the comic but largely did it's own thing to the point it barely resembled the comic so what was the point? so i see the complaints here. i never watched the show never read the comic had only 1 figure and for years i didn't even know what toyline it came from so i'm not 'outraged' or 'slapped in the face as a fan' or whatever nerd rage is going to be thrown at this. but i see your point...

however this is visionaries...yea yea you're all big fans but we're talking 13 cartoon episodes (that's barely a season) and 6 comics. let's be realistic here visionaries obviously didn't catch on so i can see the point of a re-imagining to try and spin it to something new. now i don't feel this is going to breathe new life into the arguably failed first outing of visionaries as a franchise but it's at least an attempt. i don't think this particular writer is the person to bring visionaries into 2018 but maybe that's the idea...if it fails it'll go right back into obscurity where it was till last year.
