Three covers, covers A and B give you the hero and villain scenes of a big battle and are limited to 3000 pieces each, cover C is limited to 600 and is a full on wraparound cover which merges covers A and B into a single piece of art.

    the story is somewhat good.

the art though...I'm trying to so hard to make myself like it, but I'm way too used to how all the stuff is today.

Is that how the entire comic is drawn or are the covers just like that? Its nice and all but looks like something a little kid could draw. Its like a throw way way way back art style that is really hard to look at.

I can literally draw better than this. I have no idea what kind of style they're going for but my god is it painful to look at. The dog in the jetpack...

    No. Just no.

Just fire the artist and maybe hire new writers too. The Free Comic book day issue was one of the worst things I have ever read, and I have read some awful stories.

Remember when Don Figueroa made all the bots movie style, well this is worse... much worse. It does not lend itself to classic GI Joe style or Transformers style. What the layout reminds me of is the original X-men NES game. I hope they fix this series and it turns around for the better.

If they want weird gruesome deformed Transformers, then my friend
Jose should just draw them: http://www.crudedude.net/

I love how Snake Eyes appears to be just flying around shooting his guns into the air. He truly is one of America's elite fighting force.:peoples:

For whatever it's worth, i do see the artistic merit of this style. I don't think it's childish, the proportions are generally great. Instead it has a hieroglyphic quality mixed with some graffiti style.

All that said, it might be interesting to collectors in a few decades, but I'd have trouble reading a whole book like this. It's a firm "depends on how I feel on the day that I see a copy on Ebay"

Have you guys never seen a comic cover from the early 80s? That's clearly a nod to the art style from back then.

It's closer to the 60s/early 70s actually than the 80s.

Well, he modeled his style after Jack Kirby. he even went to the Art School named after him.

I get the nostalgia of it, it's just not my thing overall.

everything about it is totally old school. and I know that's the whole point.

I guess I just grew out of old school comics a long time ago. :)

Love this style. It reminds me of the old Marvel run, I am a classic Transformer fan in general.
If I were to have Transformers art in my house I think I could settle on this.

I would totally rock a years subscription for this comic. I think it would be fun to see what the Transformers and GI JOE going to do together. It might be dumbed down enough to get kid recognition and interest. Which would be really good for GI JOE. GI JOE is the forever broken down car on cinderblocks in front of Hasbros house.

It has nothing to do with the Marvel incarnation. That was decent. This one is it's own continuity.

Goldbug was created in the OG one when GI Joe blew up Bumblebee and then tried to rebuild him, but could not get the face right.
