Loads of in process sketches up on Scioli's Twitter for those interested. If that's Scioli's art himself though, it looks different- maybe painted rather than drawn?
"Movie adaptation" were the words that got me. AM I to understand that there's an animated adaptation at work?
No, the high concept here is "WHAT IF there was a movie based on the series and IT had a comic adaptation?"
Because that's exactly the kind of high-concept once-removed insanity this series aspires to! Scioli's said the series was already done in a kind of "hyper-compressed" style that was already in the vein of a movie adaptation comic book, so this is taking that idea to its own, very meta, conclusion.
I'm not against "new." But I like my "new" to be good. Also, is this really "new" if it relies so heavily on Kirby nostalgia?
So it's bad just becusce you don't like it? That's called a opinion, not a fact and the cartoons, video games, movies and other comics are also nostalgia driven, so what's you're point?
