I'm going to take his as David Lynch Transformers/G.I.Joe movie as as adapted to comics by Jack Kirby (with some help from Steranko).

i doubt that...but here i am...i hated this crossover. the story was a disjointed incoherent mess. i got the point of the art and that wasn't the problem (even though the art was bad). it was the story. it jumped around seemingly at random and was just told badly in my opinion.

i know i'm not the only one i've seen quite a few comments along the same lines as mine

it's not a real movie...it's an "adaptation" of a "movie" that never happened.

Awesome. Between his awesome DC Comics work and his new webcomic I've been getting my Scioli fix, but it'll be neat to put a bow on this series.

THOUGH I'm not 100% sold on the concept of an in-universe movie adaptation. Mostly because I've seen it done badly before. BY IDW. So here's hoping Scioli pulls it off.

Yeah, I feel like this comic is the only revisit/retelling of Transformers that needed to happen. Like, I'm happy we've got other stuff, and enjoy a fair bit of it, but this doesn't reuse the characters or settings (or try to 'adultify' them) so much as capture the weirdness and energy of the best of g1.

It was said at NC Comicon that Rob Liefeld was originally going to draw this with Scioli on script and colours.

    Oh, what could have been...

    Here we go again.
    Back to the glorious insanity.

...I'm not sure if that would make things better or worse.

    Probably worse.

Yep. It's basically Scioli understanding the concept of playing with toys, having the wild imagination of a kid in his room, and putting it amazingly and coherently in comic book fomat. Heck, the storytelling, the ellipsis, are all about that.
Which is a clever and refreshing point of view for both franchises, y'know, those toys we made many great adventures with back then.

+ You got Kirby/Steranko/Ditko references, if you like that.

No wonder why he's good buddy with Ed Piskor who too pays tribute to both a cultural thing and comic books, with his comic book.

You don't have to like that. Nobody have to like everything. But to proclaim this is bad, stupid, incoherent, or I don't know what else ? Come on guys.

And "I know a guy, and a dude, who..." is never, ever, an good argument. Even more for deciding the validity of something's existance.
But that being said i'll argue that I know people, and very different people (part of them indifferent for both TF or Joes) who loved that comic.

Apparently it only took 11 minutes for someone with functioning eyes to see this thread.

    That 'art' is abysmal.

What's up with this art?? Not the best way to rep the 80s versions of 2 iconic franchises. Anyways, I've always wondered what it would be like if Sunbow/Marvel Productions did an 80s G1 Transformers/GI Joe crossover animated movie.

A bit of nostalgic weirdness is just what the doctor ordered! I know people don\'t necessarily like this style, but it\'s good in occasional doses.

If you liked what Scioli did here, I suggest picking up Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye from DC Comics. Scioli is currently doing a Super Powers backup for it and I like them probably even more than his TFvsGIJoe series (though it hasn't had anything as next level as "Headmasters" yet)

The art is meant to evoke 60s comics - especially the art of Kirby, particularly evoking his New Gods-Thor-Secret City concepts in story and design. If you don't like it, then don't rag on it all day. Surely you have better uses of your energy than to complain about a comic you don't even want to buy.

While I am super happy to see this, I have to say I'm surprised they've decided to do it in an entirely new continuity. Maybe for a "movie" adaptation, Scioli wanted to lean more heavily on a Sunbow influence than Marvel? Either way, it looks great so far.

I asked for it. A lot of people asked for it. But as for you and the people you know who hated it, every fandom has people like that. Who want the same thing over and over and are afraid of anything different or that might cause them to exercise a different part of their mind.

Don't take pride in being unfamiliar with your native language. Whinging is a word. A common one.

Yeah, I'm picking up Cave Carson pretty much just for the Super Powers backup. Cave itself isn't bad, but not as good as I was hoping for.
