• Right now Bay is aiming for it to run nine minutes and it’s not “active” the entire time. But at some points, “you feel things coming right over you. You gotta duck.”
• They’ve done a test and used a character named Cogman. According to Bay, Cogman is “a psychopath”. Bay explained, “He’s a proper-like butler, he’s a headmaster, so it goes back to the comics. They kind of rip off heads and they become that. So he’s this proper, great looking sociopath. He’s a psycho, but he’s very polite. And he’s like this big [uses his hands to show us the height], and it’s cool just as a test. You see him riding in a car, and behind you, over here and you can just — it’s so much fun.”
• According to Bay, the only way you’ll be able to play the VR experience at first is in IMAX theaters. He said, “They’re gonna build pods in theaters around the world. There are all these massive theaters, but they don’t use every theater. So they’ll build like 30 pods.” I’m not sure if this means it’ll travel from theater to theater or if it’s going to be released everywhere at once

So, Cogman is the dude's actual, final name. And he's a Headmaster? And he's yet another psychotic Autobot. A dumb name, a dumb gimmick, and an unlikable personality. Oh boy.

 

So Cogman is a polite psycho and a Headmaster to boot? I'm not going to lie, my interest in that character just went through the roof.

 

In my opinion, being a psychopath does not automatically mean unlikable. In fact, I greatly prefer most "asshole" Autobots to the bland "Yes, Optimus Prime!" Bots that clutter the brand in many cartoons. The AOE Autobots are arguably the biggest jerks in the faction in the films, but I find them far more likable than any of the other Movie Autobot casts and the mast majority of Autobot casts in other Transformers fiction.

The great thing about asshole characters is that they are flawed characters, just like we as humans all have major flaws as individuals. Consequently, I find that they can be relatable.

I am not saying I will like Cogman automatically. I am simply saying that psycho characters are not unlikable by default.

Okay, I am now totally into finding out more about him.

 

I don't really have anything against ass holes. It's when they're all psychotic that it becomes difficult to like them. When they spend all their time threatening to kill each other, and actually killing random creatures, I grow to despise them. Heck, even then, they can be likeable, but it's when every character in the story is like that, it becomes a problem. I kind of tolerated it in AOE, since it had been so long since there had been capable Autobots with personalities, but I don't feel as forgiving for this film.

So this is the TF that was rumored to be driving the red McLaren while Anthony Hopkins was in the passenger seat. Now I wonder who the McLaren is or if it too might also be a Head Master.

 

What, did they say something about the Red car?

 

Not here but some that were on set when Anthony Hopkins was in the red McLaren said they were told while he was the passenger, there would be a smaller TF driving the McLaren.

 

I love the idea, but I am a little afraid something like an headmaster will either be overshadowed by the huge amount of plot we already, or be one more reason for the film to be overloaded with concepts and information

Does that confirm that it's a Transformer or Headmaster?

 

I recall seeing a yellow, severed robot head in the video announcing the trailer date that was put up yesterday. I wonder if it has any sort of connection to Cogman or if it was Cogman.

 

Thinking that Cogman's car is silver and the head is kind of yellow, my theory is he's MAD about heads. All sorts of Heads.

 

Yup!!!

 

Cogman in his true form could be yellow-ish but when he merges himself with something to be a head for an artificial body (the silver car) he may change to that color. It's not like it can't happen. We see TFs change colors all the time.
