For those who missed the missed the initial Japanese text release from a few years back, this art book as been reprinted this time in Chinese. It is readily available on Ebay from a few different sellers now. All new copies come shrink-wrapped and include a Devastator poster. Gonna pick this up. Gonna try getting it off the cheapest ebay seller for $30 free shipping. Hope it doesn't turn out to be another scam - but just want some cool TF artwork goodness. It's funny though. Once I started looking at this book (which I just ordered), I started looking at a bunch of other artbooks on amazon and what not. Ended up also picking up the following... I seem to recall there were 2 missing pages in the first Chinese reprint of the Visual Works book (near the end, where the B&W artwork is). Not really convenient for me to check now, but if I'm right then hopefully they fixed it in this run.
You know what they say....great minds think alike. haha. I received mine about a week ago or so. The artwork is simply amazing. I've always wanted to get a copy of this book but the out of print first run Japanese version was going for $200+ on Amazon and I said no way. For $30-something shipped this is a far better deal. Either way I wouldn't be able to read the words anyway. The only thing that would be better than this cheaper priced reprint would be an English print version. I got mine from reputable seller johosontony for $35 shipped but he's since raised the price to $42. There are other sellers in the link in the OP who are still selling it cheaper though.
Is this the book that everyone refers to when they are referencing 'studio ox' designs? I always see posts talking about how a 3P figure is based on the 'studio ox' design (i.e. DX9 Carry) and was always curious as to where I could get an art book that featured the original 'studio ox' designs so I could see/assess for myself... Is there a 'studio ox' specific art book?
I bought one off johnsontony and it arrived a few weeks ago. Was very well packed. I thought it was the Japanese version. Didn't know there was a Chinese version. Where's the English version?!?!?! And yes, this has a lot of Studio Ox designs in it.
Got one a couple months back off Ali Express, they still have some available. Also, I just uploaded some of the color images (1/3 book is color, rest black and white) to my imgr if anyone wants to see HD versions of some of the nice art in , each image is there twice, one standard size, one really really big you can zoom in on (if you save it offline) , found on some website. TRANSFORMERS VISUAL WORKS take a gander............ book is well worth buying imo.
I tried to get this off an Ebay seller...and just found out the 'listing is removed...don't worry, you might still get your item follow up with your seller...." ya right, seller now has zero feedback it's never going to happen I filed a resolution...hopefully I can get the money back and buy from a seller who isn't a scammer. My goodness Ebay has gone downhill...
