The Smokescreen thing is a pain in the ass that I'd rather not have had to deal with, but in G2 it looks like there may have been some name rights issues for Hasbro that seems to have stopped them from using Dreadwind and Darkwing (likely due to a cartoon called Darkwing Duck at the time). The toys that would logically have been updates of the these G1 toys were given the names Dreadwing (bomber) and Smokescreen (fighter). So I just tried to forcefit these names onto the corresponding characters.
Interesting chapter, nice to see how the Autobots are moving into forming the High Council and Council of Elders for the Maximals after them. A great treat today, didn't think you' be updating so soon but not that its a bad thing lol Hope the next chapter comes soon
this was a suprise but a very welcome one. You still haven't answered my question about whathappened to Bumblebee though.
Ah, this was a welcome surprise indeed. I agreed that the Sideswipe/Sunstreaker bit was good. Though a thought just occurred to me, were those femmes that had once lived or were they just figments of Streak's imagination?
have to agree about the streaker thing. very well written and it'll be interesting to see if Sideswipe comes closer to being the prankster he once was.
I must applaud you, petey, on your ability to tie in little story tidbits - the ramhorn reference was brilliant. Just out of curiosity, what happened to Jetfire and his visions?
Bumblebee/Goldbug - He's rebuilt into Goldbug in Episode 47. I had been planning on having Goldbug be the Autobot in charge of the jail that the pretender monsters broke Galvatron and the other Decepticons out of, but replaced him with Turbofire as that sort of gullibility would fit early Bumblebee, but not the more cynical Goldbug. I'll work Goldbug in, and probably address his return to his Bumblebee persona at some point in the next seven eps. Sunstreaker's femmes - all just fantasy invented by Sunstreaker if you wish to believe he was 'real', or Sideswipe's mind if it all was just a dream. Jetfire's visions - not sure if I'll ever address this. I have a general backstory for him, and figured I should plant a seed in case I wanted to address it later. Besides, it made for good filler.
Awesome stuff. Even the "taking the name of a defeated foe" has some basis in the Marvel UK comics with the whole Divebomb and Swoop rivalry. Nice job working that in!
Great story. Maybe this means San Fran might survive in this continuity. When Jhiaxus described what he'd do to the Witwicky's I thought Spike would take advantage of the fact Fort Max was leader of the Headmasters, challenge him and step on him for the win.
I been reading this since I found you at Lexicon. This is an excellent story! You now have to write out the backstory because Jetfire is one of my favorite characters after Optimus Prime. BTW is Jetfire's form the Original "Valkerie"(SP) Form or the "Classics" form?
it'll be the Valkerie. the first few chapters with him in were written before the classics toy was announced
I may have missed this somewhere in the last 52 pages, but how may episodes are there going to be when all is said and done? I'm just about finished with Season One and have loved every minute of it. (prostrate robots to their opposite numbers and all )
Hope the moving around has settled down Petey, you need to start getting some ideas for the next chapter of this epic tale
you know what you should do peteynorth....while you're thing of where to go with the next chapter.....is write up a "what happened so far" sub chapter. something that brings us an update and remind us where we are and what to remember! just a thought or so....cuz i keep losing my place when i go back to read it again too! something like cliff notes
Maybe its best that peteynorth concentrated on finishing teh next chapter. It would be good if someone who has read all the chapters could do an overview. I would volunteer but I've not finished catching up!
