Cyclonus w/Nightstick

+ Solid figure, no quality control problems
+ Equal, if not more, paint apps than Henkei Cyclonus
+ Menacing purple deco makes this perhaps the most effective of the three Cyclonuses

- Uses two grey plastics on the thighs, but not nearly as noticable as the Universe Cyclonus (see below)

+/- Both grey plastics have a metallic flake









Galvatron

+ Well uh, it's his first repaint if you consider Henkeis as a parallel line and not repaints

- Floppy, but that's not saying much compared with my Henkei Galvatron
- Arms, backpack like to pop off
- Very bland in vehicle mode; not much more to look at in robot mode

+/- In fairness, it's not this deco's fault, it's just a poor mold
+/- The purple plastic has a metallic flake





Rodimus/Hot Rod

+ Solid figure, no quality control problems

+/- Cartoon colors may not appeal to everyone
+/- Should work well enough for the upcoming Protector armor, if you don't mind the difference between the reds used on him and Henkei/Classics Rodimus/Hot Rod

 

Sweet decos. Haven't got any of the molds yet, so that's a bonus. Where's this three pack available again? I have the feeling it's not gonna be anywhere in Australia.

 

My set was shipped from robotkingdom early last week. The usual online retailers have 'em in the US, but I don't know what the situation is like for you guys down under.

 

Hey, can you tell if the windshield has the blue painted on (is it translucent underneath?) If it is I could hopefully remove that blue paint.

 

Thanks for the pics. Galvatron is abysmal, Rodimus is *good*, and Cyclonus is excellent! If I could only get Cyclonus got a release by himself...but then it would be scalped to hell. So I see the logic of including 2 crappy repaints with Cyclonus --- to thwart the scalpers!

Oops, Rodimus looks much better in the tfclub pics...still not cartoon accurate but pops more.

 

From what I can see, the windshield is blue paint over opaque red plastic. On the Henkei one, it's red paint on transparent blue plastic.

 

Alright. Well, I guess it's better to pay around $30 for Rodimus and two others instead of $60+ for the original Rodimus. Thanks.

Only Cyclonus is decent imo. The other 2... ouch.

 

Wow... Cyclonus looks fantastic. Don't really care for the Hot Rod or Galvatron, though. If anyone is buying this set just for the Hot Rod and wants to offload the Cyclonus, please let me know.

Actually, it's entirely the deco's fault that Galvatron is so bland looking in tank mode and pretty lousy in robot mode. The mold would be fine if the joints would get tightened up a little bit.

 

This set is growing and growing on me. I bit the bullet and ordered one from BBTS weeks ago and now it's sitting in my POL. I really, really can't wait to get another Rodimus.

 

light color or no paint...can you say cheap
good for you guys wanted Hot Rod, everything Fans Project touches turns into gold, I mean if Galvatron mold was weak, Hot Rod mold wasn't that much better

 

I'm all over this if it makes it to the US. Want a Hot Rod, love the Cyclonus mold to death and that paint job. Galvatron...eh what can you do. I'm just giving them props for an appropriate pack.

I want this bad. Thanks for the pics. I really like the anime colors on hot rod. (Need a new roddy anyways, my hassbro one is so loose now the backpack wont stay rotated up for robot mode.) Cyclonus looks great, especially as I only have the hasbro version, and that mold is epic in any color any ways. Galvatron is kinda lackluster, but I figure I'll give him some battle damage or something.

 

If these come to Target or if I pick these up online some changes are definitely going to be made to Rodimus and Galvatron. Galvatron's tank mode could have done with some detailing and pigment washes. And Rodimus could have at least had a blue metal flake paint app. But that is just my looks and own personal gripes.
