He was gone early day one. Being A level he should be pretty easy to get though.

Fair point about the price. Also thinking about it some more I think it may fit a different segment altogether. Its more of a Toy that is in the vein of the original. Like if they made it today with the Original aesthetics. Where ML Prime is the original upgraded.

Its about price to me, I got siege springer at ross back then for 13 bucks. Only thing that I want from the 86 is the catapult missile.

Preordered Straxus, nice to have a regional liege of cybertron for polyhex in accurate figure form.

Interested in deluxe optimus, rest of the stuff seems like standard last wave of repaints/retools.

Yes. "Too Beetle like," as opposed to more like Bumblebee.

If you don't think it's worth it don't buy it.
If others see value in the figure why do you care?

Why do you seem so deadset on making everyone not want this figure and blaming Hasbro for making money?

The figure is clearly more expensive to produce than the siege version.

Comparing him to Metalhawk from Cyclonus is disingenuous. Yet you keep thinking you are an intellectual for using that comparison. More accessories and more complex transformation means a more expensive figure. 86 Springer has more parts in the base bot alone, before adding the accessories.

86 Blaster is merely a redeco of the KD figure (albeit still retaining the sculpted detail, but still). Plus, the new deco is attractive and the KD figure was already a good toy. Could they have sold it somewhere else and had someone else fill in the voyager slot though? Maybe.

Was this supposed to be a quote? Or did something go wrong?

Huh, Quake is heavy enough Skullgrin retool, didn't notice at first. I love the mold but hope he has wheels.

Tbh, I am noticing that united is just retool/redeco season. Being the last line for the trilogy it makes sense.

As long as he’s free of that soft rubbery stuff I’m fine with it personally. I really like the arms and chest which seem to be the main parts carried over.

I'm a super sucker for the mold so all for it. Retooling is fine if done well and looking at those additional tabs the transformation has changed.

I still like Skullgrin and got 4 G2 Troopers after all haha.

Even if a likely remold with repainted Targetmasters, Quake is looking very promising!

What about the art is making people say he is a retool of Skullgrin? The chest & tread legs?

That was my issue with Skullgrin. I was so excited for him, but as soon as I saw the floppy parts and swords, I was out as a matter of principle. Not intending to get Quake, but I hope they corrected that.

It’s the chest, biceps, forearms / hands, and toes. Compare the art to a photo of Skullgrin. Aside from the toes, however, the legs seem to be entirely new. Additionally, his shoulders and likely waist are new.

This. He is a heavy one but the feet, chest, and legs give it away. The whole upper body actually I recognise the shape of the back.

This is what I was about to say - were SS86 Springer still a Voyager...well, you'd still hear complaints, but way fewer complaints. (Plus, SS86 Blaster has the advantage of having a solid-plastic Eject, which people have been hoping to get for a while, so a lot of people consider him a little more "essential".)

Thanks, I'm never good at picking stuff out like that. I figured the chest was the same.

I'll wait until we see the alt mode, but I'm curious if they could get a Guzzle out of it. I'm not too keen on it just due to the differences in transformations, but I guess it's possible.

It’s a pretty squat mold so I think a Guzzle would be possible even if the arms wouldn’t have the treads you expect. The rest of the design matches up well enough.

I’m curious about the transformation on this guy too. Ignoring the toes, his entire lower body seems to be new while his upper body is the same as Skullgrin’s bar the obvious head, shoulders, and turret. I think the whole upper half will transform exactly the same, but the question is whether his lower half will still extend in front like on Skullgrin or if it’ll fold beneath the upper half to be a shorter, taller tank.

Say it with me...some people are just damaged!

Because there's no crusade, there's no war to be fought. Hasbro puts out a product. Some people will like it, some people don't. Some will buy it, some won't.

There shouldn't be anything more than that. No one should really be justifying or being asked to justify. I like Springer so I'll buy him. If hypothetical you don't then cool, no skin off my back. I just get wierded out when people treat it as some kind of crusade and wig out like they're mentally ill because they're somehow so offended by price that they twitter Karen explode about it.
