His copy is missing an arm and half of the weapons, and the fandom believes that's the finished and complete product

    from TFWiki:
"Red Cog comes with an additional loaded arsenal of weapons, several of which were inspired by the War for Cybertron Trilogy cartoon: recolors of Siege Ultra Magnus's "RT-15 Stethoscopic Detector", and Siege Chromia's "RT-5 Anti-thermo Blaster" and "SR Hushfuze", new molds such as a short laser gun, a long barrel which can be attached to the Ultra Magnus blaster to replicate the rifle used by Elita One, a triple shotgun barrel, two green explosives, a pink barrel based on Energon vials, and a blaster that works as an adaptor made specifically for attaching him in one of his Weaponizer modes onto the back of Earthrise/Kingdom Arcee to replicate the scene where she combined with "normal Cog" in Siege episode 5.[1]"

Hmm, trying to decide on a name. I'm thinking Knockdown cause something about him reminds me of the GI Joe character. Plus there's some Transformers history there.
Or Checkpoint because Red Security Officer = Red Shirt= Star Trek TOS movie Security Chief Chekov. ;)

They look very similar but for sure the weapons pack version is much smaller.

I'm not sure what the solution is with the route they've gone, but the tissue wrapped accessories in the back of the boxes doesn't seem to be it if you keep having to warn people not to accidentally throw them away. It doesn't seem as big as problem here with Cog just due to the amount of extras here but I was very close to tossing my Terrorsaur's elbow blades away because they were so small and unnoticeable in that tissue at first.

Something like what Coronation Starscream did would be a start:

Back of the box shows the figure and calls out the accessories. So when you open the box you know what should be inside. Standardizing the location would also be helpful. But if there's concerns about people slitting the tape to get to them they'd also have to redesign the way the box folds so there wouldn't be a flap at that spot.

But let's also be honest, there were Kingdom figures who even without the paper had accessories you could miss. Because they started storing accessories on the underside or back of the cardboard insert. If Hasbro could start standardizing the location across brands that could go a long way to training buyers on where to look. Because we're coming off plastic bubbles where you could see everything attached when you pulled the bubble out.

They keep issuing a warning because it's a recent change to the M.O. not because there's some sort of inherent problem with the way they're currently packing them

I know this is their new m.o. and obviously people here aka collectors know to check. But as Hasbro themselves continue to point out, these toys are mainly for kids and are mainly purchased for kids by parents, it's a sales bonus with the adult collectors who are also interested. And how many parents are perusing social media for Mark's warnings only for their 10 year old who all have the internet at their fingertips to later find out they lost something? Just saying, maybe food for thought to put a printed notification of the accessories on the boxes to cover their customer service's butts.

I don't know about you, but when I was a kid, and without the internet, I was smart enough to check packaging for accessories. I feel like Mark's warnings are more meant for adult collectors who refuse to change their habits rather than children that are more adaptable to new situations.

Box *and* instructions calling out accessories would help. I think the latter already do.

Agreed, standardizing each class size's box would be ideal but short of that expense, I think just having a printed list of the accessories on the back like this would be a big plus for them just to cover their bases. I wasn't even hating on their choice of packaging like many have, I just realize that every person of every age is not inherently going to approach opening a toy in the same manner.

I was really trying to look for a Star Trek name. Both Chekov actors are dead, and this would be a nice way of remembering them. Thank you! Will most definetly use this name.

I'm ready for the select style brown boxes.

I think the best solution would be to keep the window for retail, but make it smaller, so that the robot would be packaged to show just it's head.

Or maybe have the detailed photos be retail shelf partitions and go 100% brown box. Like a shoe store.
