Well, *I* for one am really excited to preorder IDW's Shattered Glass ™ Optimus Prime and Ratchet set.

I've loved the IDW's Shattered Glass ™ concept ever since it was first conceived by IDW back in 2008 at Botcon.

I thought it was a unique take on a classic trope and really felt that IDW's Shattered Glass ™ lore fleshed out the overall Transformers universe, so I am over the moon that Hasbro is recognizing the hard work by the IDW team back then in 2008 who originally came up with IDW's Shattered Glass ™ and giving us these modern and updated IDW's Shattered Glass ™ Optimus Prime and Ratchet figures.

Hopefully this means we will see much more of IDW's Shattered Glass ™ figures in future releases!

 

I can\'t believe Hasbro actually made every Ratchet in this trilogy an exclusive so far.

 

If there is another one, I have no idea when it would be. Yesterday’s Transformers Tuesday was the last one so far that had a specific date tied to it. For now, we’ll just have to wait until Hasbro announces when the next one is.

@Mayor Mallow: Selects SG Ratchet isn’t technically an exclusive, even though he’s only available online. There’s a bunch of different stores that have preorders up for him at the moment.

I really don't care for the blue text. It is an inner circle thing people new to this specific message board will not get. I'll continue using the [/sarcasm] tag since everybody understands that.
But yeah, IDW to my knowledge, never did Shattered Glass, unless Barber tried to cram that into his continuity nightmare at the end. Maybe this means Hasbro asked them to do a SG comic?

 

I think they reprinted some of the Club comics so it counts. Kinda.

I am really surprised that there is such a negative response to this set. As a owner of all the original SG stuff I am actually surprised considering how expensive they are. I think the only ones I ever got rid of was the deluxe prime, magnus, and megatron because their molds were awful. I would like to see more wfc trilogy repaints to expand and replace my SG collection. I ordered the set and I have to figure out if I keep the original SG prime or sell. I prefer the original's deco but the ER mold is the best voyager prime to date.

 

I'm happy to have this set as I can finally have an evil Prime, complete with trailer (stealing dead primes trailer)

 

One more set added to the pre-order pile, and that pile is becoming a mound.

 

I hope this sells well enough to continue to make more... I would love a Megatron and Starscream set, especially. For me, it completes a set. My main display is a Prime, Megatron, Ratchet, and Classic Pretender characters from all the different realities. I have a glaring hole where there is no SG Ratchet when I have all the others. Now that hole shall be filled with no painting needed!

I agree, but I don’t see it in the cards this time around. To me, this is better, because it’s easier to paint a Marvel Ratchet than a SG Ratchet.

man, I’d kill for a Marvel Ratchet vs Marvel Megatron two pack, though....

 

I don't mind shattered Prime - considering some of the dubious choices various Optimus' have made (especially since 2007) it's not so hard to see why there would be an evil version. The colour is nice too, Ratchet seems like a bit superflous though, as I said before i'd rather of had the entire trailer and ditch the Ratchet. Or ditch both of them and have a Shattered Glass Soundwave instead.

 

I would love to see a figure made of this iconic comic story.
