Maybe there are some areas of the country that can't get Wave 1 in stock hence the reprints?

No. But I do realize WotC is trying to go about this game differently than their other games.

If you mean the United States, then I don't buy that story. We live in an era and a country where about 75% of items can be ordered online. If you can't get Wave 1 locally, why not order it online? Heck I live in Florida where Wave 1 is still very abundant and I still ordered online due to how inexpensive it is.

Transformers TCG: Season 1 Booster Box . Still available for $83, shipping included.

I get it if you don't have those characters yet, $200 for Cliffjumper, Slipstream, and the SRT and RT's from Wave 1 seems like a deal. On top of that you get a Wave 1 Booster Box and the other bits of swag.

And here I was hoping to save up on some money over the next two months...

Totally agree! Remove the Wave 1 Boosters, reduce the price to 50$ and we can talk!

    Pro
    - SDCC Reprints
    - Wave 1 Super Rare Reprints
    - Wave 1 Rare Prime and Megs Reprints (Prime sure goes for some money, dunno about Megs really)
    - Lovely packaging, I am sure the Allspark will make a nice display piece for my toy collection
    - The counters look nice (but I prefer using my red/purple transclearant D20s tbh)

    Contra
    - Love (most of) the artworks, but not the new card design (they better not change it for Wave 5 onwards)
    - 30 Wave Booster packs - just why? I still got so many Wave 1 commons flying around... no idea what I should do with all of them... I know this is a Wave 1 reprint product... but 15 Wave, and 5 of each of the other sets (2,3 and 4) would have been way better... to get people interested in the game beyond Wave 1
    - included Battle Cards really make no sense to me... I see a point of reprinting the cards for OP and Megs... but not really for Bumblebee (I mean, yeah, he is in the box, but who cares about the card?),
Same goes for the other cards... imo at least...

Here is my list of 6 Battle Cards from Wave 1 that should have gotten that treatment instead:
    - Energon Axe
    - I Still Function!
    - Matrix of Leadership
    - Peace Through Tyranny
    - Roll Out!
    - Security Checkpoint

Also... missed the chance to reprint All-Out Attack and Tandem Targeting System... they do not have that much of an impact on the meta (I assume? Dunno tbh), but why reprint the CC from the SDCC booster but not the BC?

If this means I cannot order (or even access) the link because I live in Germany... I am gonna pull a Prowl and flip a freakin table!!!

Even if it is $120 worth of booster packs, I’m not paying $200 for a bunch of cards

Best thing about this set is it signals that Rotation will not be part of the game.

$200 for a bunch of Transformers TCG cards in a Tesseract does seem very expensive. Although, consider that just 2 of the cards included were originally SDCC exclusives and go for over $110 each on their own. At least according to this site:
Transformers TCG - Wave 1 Price Guide

Plus the fact that it also includes a 30 packs of cards, which is essentially what you'd get in a full booster case. Which in itself is probably $100 new. I'm not sure. I'm having trouble finding a place online that sells whole booster cases that's not ridiculously overpriced.

And it is a nice box. I don't know. I think if I played Transformers TCG, I'd be all over this. I may still get it. Who knows. Might make for a cool unboxing video.

BTW, has anyone else tried translating the Cybertronian on the box? For one thing, it's upside-down. And I managed to make out the word "Prime", but the rest seem to be the other characters names, like Cliffjumper and Slipsteam, except they're kind of muddled. Like they're missing letters or parts of letters. Like someone started putting in the effort of designing this box with their names translated correctly, but then was like, "Oh, when is this due? An hour?! Shit! Uh, I'll just copy and paste a bunch of this so it at least looks right. Nobody's going to read this anyways."

Might be a silly question and if so I apologise...

... What are the dice for? Or are they used as HP trackers?

Well, this is not necessarily evidence of that. In previous interviews Nick and Ken have been cagey, but have said that rotation is likely an inevitable part of the game. In fact the evidence for rotation can be found in this box set. Peace Through Tyranny and Security Checkpoint aren't part of the Energon Edition cards. Those are very strong cards that seemed like obvious things to include in the set (people are complaining about their lack of inclusion on Facebook) but they will only exist as Wave 1 cards this means that if Wave 1 is rotated out, these characters and battle cards will still be legal to play, but the rest of Wave 1 will not be.
