When the figure was first revealed it was named as such, and had it on it’s collector’s card. But it was corrected later that day and the card was also corrected I believe.

 

Well aware of this, and I didn't dispute it. I did specify (perhaps not clearly) that those plans are subject to change, but at the time they have no intentions/interest. It's only been a few years, so that may or may not have changed - due to the lack of hearing anything about Nova I'd say that hasn't changed, but the leaked list only showed thru about half of the POTP line, and as we've seen, things can change quickly and come out of nowhere now.

 

Just to let anyone else know before they too waste their time, I went through the last page of messages. No Grotusque hasn't been released on TRU's website or anything yet, we haven't gotten any more information, it's just people talking about Nova Prime and other stuff.

All i have a question. I know this will bump this thread up without any real news but i'm curious. This 3 pack is still not showing on the Toys R Us US website as of today. I was a little surprised that it wouldn't be on sale for Black Friday. Why wasn't it? Arcee had a fairly quick turnaround from Hascon to TRU.com. Does anyone with more experience regarding Hasbro's distribution and TRU's treatment of exclusives have some info that could help explain why this is the case. It just seems strange. Sorry if i'm dragging something up that has already been answered.

 

This is pure conjecture, but I'm getting the sense that whatever marketing plans they had for the exclusives end of the TR line (channels, positioning, etc) was hastily scrapped for whatever reason to switch. I'd further wager that the Toys r Us trouble had a lot to do with it. They may just be trying to liquidate the stock as easily as possible to switch gears to PotP, hence it showing up only in international markets so far?

 

I would guess it has more to do with the timing. It was up for preorder about a month after HasCon, but not due to ship for another month after that - which created a bunch of confusion/complaints due to cancelled orders because of PayPal's 30 day window - I'm guessing it won't go up for preorder until it is much closer to release, or won't even be offered until it's available.
But again, this is all purely guesswork on my part.

 

Still hoping for some sort of announcement about buying it online in the states. I checked Ebay since the word came out about Grotusque being in Hong Kong to see if maybe prices dropped a bit with more supply, but they are still selling for 120+ shipped...

For what it’s worth, the turnaround from Hascon to TRU isn’t really the relevant metric. Arcee was announced quite some time before Hascon. Since we only learned of Grotusque existence at NYCC, we need to measure from when Arcee was first revealed to really compare.
