I just received this book, and once again I'm disappointed. The title and description of this book leads one to believe all or most of the Transformers would be covered. This is certainly not the case. The Transformers from the first movie are covered using the same photos in the first movie book, and they have nothing on Brawl or Bonecrusher. For ROTF, only the twins, the Fallen, Sideswipe, ravage, Devastator and Jetfire are shown. Talk about disappointing. I was really hoping the Constructicons would be shown in their robot modes, as well as some of the background characters. Maybe they'll show more in the Art book coming out.
I just wanna say, when I said whiny noob, I wasnt talking about you. Oh, and I hate that book. They use like, no one in it. MTL
That's crappy. I guess I'm not gonna be picking that up. Maybe they will come out with something better then this in the future.
Wow. Just ... wow. So not picking it up UNLESS all movie charcters are added that mean Dropkick and Ejector!!!!
I got this book and was also very disappointed. They actually use the same exact pictures and data from the first movie book. And the fact that they have characters in it that are not even in the second movie is terrible. They do have some good stuff on new characters like The Fallen, but pretty much a waste I think.
Also, the text is pretty awful. I normally like Simon Furman's work, but this book is packed with nonsense. None of the parts callouts make any sense (arrows point to random robot parts and identify them with technobabble), and the specifications are beyond implausible, not to mention sometimes directly contradictory to what's seen on screen. Why couldn't DK have done a Star Wars-style visual encyclopedia, with prop shots of the various pieces of equipment, and CG closeups of various robot bits? Could they seriously not get permission to include images of the F-22, Buffalo, and M1 tank? Okay, last time around, I understand they cut costs because they weren't sure the movie would make money. This time though, they know they have a hit on their hands. The only hope is that people refuse to buy this book while buying lots of quality ROTF stuff, signaling to DK's marketing department that this product is not up to snuff with other movie merchandising. If only.
