I never blamed Hot Rod for Optimus's death. I blamed Optimus for being incompetent. He should have shot Megatron before Hot Rod got in the way.

Strangely enough, of all the deaths in the film, I found Iron Hide's the most troubling.

25 years ago this day, a little boy named Daniel who you know today as Protoman would see this movie and his life would be changed forever. It was his first taste of anything Transformers.

Do you reckon the Hot Rod love was a result of Daniel having the same name as you? Cos thats the effect it had on me! Hot Rod was like MY buddy! And another Rodimus fanboy was born...

I remember, my mom didnt want me to go see it. She thought I would get upset when Prime died. In fact she spoiled that part for me. I was only 7 at the time but I will never forget when I first saw it. I think I was more shocked, by the death's of all the other characters rather than just Prime.

I was 7 going on 8 when I saw the movie in the theater. I was in utter shock seeing the autobots die on the shuttle and then seeing Wheeljack and Windchargers bodies. I feared up when Prime died along with the sounds of other kids fighting tears and sucking back in their snot. This is my favorite movie and the only Transformers movie in existence to me. I have a copy of the movie saved to my phone that I watch every once in a while when I am doing cardio at the gym and the DVD at home. I still get teary eyed to this day when I see Prime die (that's right I admit it) and I still blame Hot Rod for Primes death.

The problem with that would be that the vhs version that I have is the one with the Kid Rhino Star Wars style opening.

Perhaps I'll watch the movie tonight and revel at Skywarp becoming Cyclonus.  JK, or am I....

Goddamn what a classic, from the crazy orchestral theme, to an animation style that was amazing on scene and garbage the next.

Still better than any of the Michael Bay flims.

I was real upset on how movie critics like Siskel (R.I.P.) and Ebert talked real bad about the movie. They didn't like it, because they don't like it period.

It's funny, I wasn't even thinking about today being the anniversary of the release of TFTM.

It's funny because for the last few weeks I've been watching G1 in chronological order, and last night I finished B.O.T. - the last episode of Season 2.

I immediately moved on to TFTM. Watched it all the way through. I'm now getting ready to start Season 3.

I was off by one day, and I didn't even know it. Weird.

I was 9 when I first saw it, and was pretty much in awe. Of everything.

Even to this day, Optimus Prime's death is still a pretty moving moment. I know he comes back, but still...

Watching it as we speak, Prime just died...I got tears to my eyes. I can't recall when I first saw it, I know I was real young. Can't believe it's been 25 years already...
