I remember buying the Optimus voice changer helmet from the first movie. I think it was $30 back then in 2007. No way I\'d pay more than that today for basically the same helmet, just redesigned. But the way prices have gone up the past 10 years it doesn\'t surprise me. This will be a shelf warmer and eventually end up at discount stores on clearance...
The 2007 Optimus Helmet was AU$78-99 in retail stores here... and our exchange rate at that time was around 84 US cents (compared to the current 74-76 rate, making the 2007 toys cheaper)... which unfortunately makes the AU$138 price tag of this 2017 helmet, expected after ten years of inflation, easily offsetting the savings made from any recycled R&D (and recycling is unlikely, as these helmets should be new tech after 10 years of improvements and innovation).
