Just seen this on the Cineworld website and it is said that The Last Knight is apparently going to be 150 minutes long. Just wanted to bring this to everyones attention.

 

15 minutes shortet than AOE if this is official

 

Two and a half hours seems pretty long.

 

I've always thought 2hrs 30 to be a good limit for run times.

 

I hope this is legit. I'll gladly take that over the rumored 3+ hour runtime that Alex Yu mentioned in one of his most recent videos.

EDIT: Okay yeah now I doubt it's legit, but I still hope 2 hours and 30 minutes ends up being the max!

Just a little worried now tho. Seeing EVERYTHING we have so far and sure to be more, if this movie is really 15 minutes shorter than AOE, I'm worried that they won't explain everything good enough or tie up lose ends in the allowed time.

Like I said before, even in the longer. Movies, it seemed that they were overstuffed and even then could get everything to mesh and flow. Now it looks like this movie will have even more than prior movies yet a shorter run time? Something's off here IMO.

If that's official then it's still too long. These movies should aim for 2 hr 20 max. They have no business being 2 hr 40 + like AOE was.

When you post things like that, it makes it seem as though you haven't even been here the last decade.

TF1: 2 hours, 23 minutes.
ROTF: 2 hours, 25 minutes.
DOTM: 2 hours, 30 minutes.
AOE: 2 hours, 45 minutes.

And you think this supposed running time is long? This one? This specific one? This one right here is the long one?

The previous rumor was that this film was going to be the longest of them all, clocking in at 3 hours, not less. Of course, that was a Facebook post and I'm 99% sure it's not legit since they're still editing the film, but I can't imagine the film being shorter than previous entries in the series. Certainly not if they're going to tie all of it together plus tell a new story.

If you think this is long, you better buckle up, because it's gonna be a long ass ride.

 

They can be however long the director/studio wants them to be.

 

2:15 would be too long. No reason to be longer than 2 hours, in all honesty.

 

If they have enough material that serves the plot, why shouldn't the movie be longer?

 

Michael Bay himself probably doesn't even know the runtime at this point.

 

Well there's the thing, these movies generally don't. 2.5hr movies are fine but they have to maintain the quality!

You could have trimmed 30mins off of AOE and it would have been much better!

Personally longs movies are fine at the cinema, but i prefer shorter movies, easier to rewatch!

 

I don't see the problem with the movie being 2.5 hours. I mean, heck, when I went to go so see Age of Extinction with my dad, when we got to the part where Galvatron and Prime were fighting, he leaned over and said, "This movie is pretty long isn't it?" As long as the movie explains how Megatron got his new body and how Barricade survived the battle of Chicago then its all good with me.

 

I think the movie will be around 170 minutes when they finish editing..

 

Ummm... where did I say this specific one was too long? You kinda blew up there, buddy. All I said was two and a half hours is pretty long.

They're all too long. Each movie has at least a half hour of fluff, and by the end of AOE I was physically drained. I had a headache and fatigue from the sensory onslaught of the last act, and I was hoping to avoid that in a TF movie for once.

Because they never have enough material that serves the plot.

Hell, AOE restarted it's climax just to shove in the Dinobots and two pointless chase scenes. How did Lockdown's magnet ship bit serve the plot? Or Joshua's bike chase? Or the Dinobots rampaging through the streets? The whole climax could've taken place in one courtyard with a short but satisfying battle between two factions of robots, but there was just so much going on that didn't need to be.
