I agree it wasn't "epic", but I felt it. Quite a bit.
This fandom can literally not be satisfied.
I am not saying the film itself will definitely, undoubtedly be good, but that was certainly an excellent trailer and the best for any of the films yet.
Keep in mind that, to Bee, Prime is his Father. Hell, in AOE, Prime told Cade that he raised Bee. They have a parent/child bond, so battling Prime is meant to be heartbreaking for Bee. I'm just hoping that they finally gave Bee his real voice. It would make that scene soooooo much more emotional.
That green stuff everyone is talking about when Bee runs up to Optimus is (IMHO) clearly seaweed of some kind... they're standing in the thing that the subs are going into earlier in the trailer... it's risen to the surface for some reason & that's where that battle happens.
My prediction on what causes the global war against the bots. Galvatron, following his "We will meet again Prime, for I am reborn" reverts back to his original name Megatron. He revives the deceased Decepticons from the Chicago battle, and they start taking over the Earth. New Autobots arrive on the planet as well. And that's what starts this massive human v Transformer war. Somehow Megs has upgraded himself, maybe he is contact with Unicron or something or the Creators.
The part when Cade and Bee are cuddling next to each other and Cade yells "no!" at Optimus, is so cute, IMO.
Did I just hear Sir Anthony Hopkins say "Optimus Prime"? Mind blown.
I feel like Optimus is basically Megatron from the '86 animated film in this trailer
I actually really liked it. It gave us a great deal of info for a teaser trailer of all things. Remember the DOTM teaser only showed us the inside of the Ark and Sentinel's face, while the ROTF one only had brief flashes of explosions and robots punching.
There is something wicked about Optimus straight up flooring Bumblebee like that. It's not shying away from depicting Optimus from doing something brutal to a character like Bumblebee, even if he is possessed/evil/whatever.
I have already grounded my expectations for this movie, and that said I'm looking forward to it. It won't be good, but if I can get some neat robot interactions and fight-scenes like AOE (minus the filler) then I'll be a happy camper.
I actually had the exact thought, only now that it seems like the planet is Cybertron, rather than Unicron, I'm thinking its the creators who are going to go all "I've summoned you here for a purpose" on Prime's ass.
If Optimus actually kills bumbleebee, Its going to end up like Transformers: the Movvie, with a bunch of crying kids leaving the theather
Where do you guys keep seeing Unicron?
That blown up planet is what was left of cybertron from DOTM isnt it?
Is this gonna be some reverse '86 movie schenanigans? Prime's beat up body is rejuvenated by Unicron and dark energon and somesuchbusiness?
I just came here to say that what if Bee's real voice is what brings Optimus back to normal
dark energon is too obvious of a clue for Unicron...
No Optimus will die/leave, making bumblebee the new prime.
Bumblebee has a confirmed spin off series. He is plot proof.
Anyone notice how optimus have the purple eyes when he attacks bumblebee?
At least theres still IDW . Infinitely better story telling than the movies. At least they show imagination.
No sacraficeeeeee no victoryyyyyyy
I have to say this, but this is literally the dumbest possible way to launch this idiotic 'cinematic universe' by incurring the biggest trap in the franchise, assuming that was Unicron. Namely, Unicron being a big bad in literally any form other than the true final baddie in the final installment of a series is certain failure as how the fuck do you top God as the enemy?
When it comes to Transformers, you simply don't. Because you can't.
Energon was shit for multiple reasons, but one of the most glaring is how not only did it have to cope with trying to bring back Unicron after his ass was toast from Armada, it killed him too quickly and had to resurect his ass a second time because there was no greater threat to trump him. Prime fucking sucked because it ended S1 with Unicron as the planet Earth itself and only revisited him for the final movie - not the end of the series, the movie - as a proxy through Megatron because they couldn't actually introduce a bigger threat. And we all know S3 is the absolute weakest G1 season - depending on where you consider Call of the Primatives to fall.
But the movies constantly keep trying to up the ante and Unicron is a sure-fire way to ensure it will never do so again. Because, again, at no point in this series has Unicron actually ever been succeeded by a greater threat. Even that thing from Alterenity which was basically a non-planetoid Unicron.
Welcome to the point where the franchise plateaus folks.
