Guess that explains its close proximity to the water tower, too.

This huge wall right to water tower has a big painting of clouded sky, many marine scenes was filmed in this basin 

I even have thought that they partly filmed TF6 too, since MB can't direct it fully

Would almost be what people have mused would be a best case scenario, of Bay shooting the action, and another director taking care of the story/characters etc.

Speaking of Camaros, that reminds how when I was younger, I kept demanding my mother buy me one. She would suggest me getting a Volkswagen Beetle instead only for me to respond "But I want a Bumblebee car!"

Imagine my shock when I got older and discovered G1 Bumblebee transformed into a Volkswagen Beetle.

Anyways as for the pictures itself, in the other topic I assumed that they were filming extra scenes for destroyed Chicago based on how destroyed everything looked. Then again it's possible London gets torn up in battle since that it pretty much a normal thing in Transformers films.

 

I'm sure the UK sees some damage, too...but the elevated train tracks are clearly for shoots that are meant to represent Chicago.

Which isn't to suggest that they didn't use the "People Mover" in Detroit for a scene meant to take place in China, but the surroundings clearly indicated that. In this case, they don't. So Chicago it is!
