Actually we don't know that at all. We just ASUMED that's when they first came to Earth.
Where do you see this plothole?
I agree with this so much.
People keep brining up that Bumblebee was a 70's Camaro in the start of 2007's film. Considering the ease that they can just scan and become that form, nothing says he has to be a Camaro during the BB film. He just becomes it sometime before 2007. In AOE, he was again an old car and not the 2007+ Camaro he had been in the previous films so after DOTM, he 'downgraded'. So there is no reason they couldn't put him as a VW for part of the film.
I'm surprised this ability hasn't been used as a tactic. Just keep changing forms for whatever situation. Go around and scan a bunch of things. Battle time, become the tank you scanned. Need to travel fast, good thing you scanned a jet. Look a river! I scanned a boat last week. Frankly, it is a lazy way of taking a new form. I always preferred the other versions where characters would be rebuilt by others or be in chambers being rebuilt.
So with Bees movie being in the 80s there are A LOT of events that they could add that took place then but one that really stands out and I think needs more attention is in 1986 What Happened at Chernobyl?
In DOTM it was already established that they tried harnessing the power of the Arks fusion reactor. Would be a great way to tie that in more and bring Soundwave into the fold more. Also off note, I want to see Barricade as a 80s model Mustang police car. On second thought, no I don't lol.
GM has a contract with Paramount and Hasbro and unless that contract has ended or been redone, I think Bee is contracted to always be some form of Camaro in the movies "for some part of he movie anyway". So I could see him being something else to start out with. But his final look in the movie will more than likely be some form of a Camaro.
It always struck me as more of a loyalty thing between Michael Bay and GM. There is probably some kind of contract for each movie, but I can't find any info about a contract that says Bumblebee has to be a Camaro. I would think Bay would be able to switch up the cars at will when a new movie is being made.
Could make a "blink and you'll miss it" Xmen First Class joke tho...
Did I read that right? Michel Bay said that he wouldn't direct a 5th movie without a script? Did we enter the Twilight Zone?
I know right. My mom will claim Bee is a Camaro and then think I'm a liar when I bring up G1.
Also, Berserker doesn't stand and the toy is so finicky. I really would've preferred I put the One-Step. The design looks so good but also, they used thin plastic so I'm not sure how long he'll last.
Barricade: This one is for the Ark!
XD I know it's gibberish, but would be funny if Barricade knew about the Ark fusion reactor and Bumblebee didn't and was just fighting Barricade because he thought he was probably up to no good.
Bee in the 80s, golden
maybe we can see (at least) a homage to M.A.S.K. and a certain red truck that is NOT Optimus haha
Transformers movie set is ancient Rome is also in the works.
Goddammit. Can we get the TFs back in space, away from Earth, and tell an original story at some point???
What a waste of an alien robot race; forever trapped on this boring blue marble.
Is he? Is he showing some growth. Is Paramount's Michael Bay showing some independence!?
Roman Empire Transformers? In before Caesar was a Pretender.
I dont find him to be "finicky". I have 2 and their fine to me. They both stand with no problems and transformation isnt all that bad as ppl make it out to be. Sometimes i feel its their complaint when they cant transform it properly
If they do Ancient Rome, I would like if they include Roman and Greek Mythology. Like have some of the stories and creatures were based on Transformers. Maybe the Minotaur was actually Tantrum, the Nemean Lion was Razorclaw, Mars/Ares was Predaking, etc.
Hope Overlord with his luscious Caligula lips makes an appearance. Not sure what the Cybertronians could transform into during that ancient time. Siege engines, war wagons, elephants (a la Hannibal)?
That could actually work.
everything up to this point has been implying that EVERY character so far has been on earth since forever. Not just bumblebee, EVERYONE.
How could Optimus and his Autobots have chased the allspark into space and rediscover earth again if they were already ON earth, NOT fighting a civil war?
Granted i know the movie itself isn't out yet and may still explain these things but until that happens, its a plot hole.
No it hasn't.
