Long shot I know, but shout out if you're in Taipei, Taiwan! If you are, let me know if you're interested in playing. There's a TCG shop I like close to NTU... if you're into MTG you probably know about it already. Fantasy Card Shop. My favorite in the city :)  I bought a bunch of Wave 1/2/3 boxes, so I can bring boosters for sealed play if you don't want to buy (I'll keep the cards if you don't buy them before opening).

I can also sell you some packs at the price I paid, $3 (90 NTD) per pack. Or anything I have at tcgplayer price... I'm expecting to have at least a couple of most cards. I'd suggest that for a lot of card games, buying a full set of non-rares is an affordable way to explore... you get most of the deckbuilding complexity and fun. It's similar cost to the starter sets, but *much* more interesting since you can build your own deck, and since starter sets usually have super-simplified play for beginners.

I'm not trying to make money here, in fact I'd bet that it's probably a losing proposition to open boxes to sell at tcgplayer prices (which suggests to me that there aren't many hoarders/speculators/scalpers, but rather that any stores opening boxes can only sell chase rares... which is a shame because of what I suggested above about deckbuilding!). Just trying to increase interest, especially out here. You can find a few ppl selling common/uncommon sets on ebay, so buy from them too!

Caliburst seems like a fun pairing with Wave 1 Shockwave

I didn't think they would actually do it. I figured they would make Decepticon version to balance it out. But here we are.

Honestly, I'm disappointed they banned it rather than make a counter. It's not a Swap Parts level problem. All it honestly did was make players not want to play Decepticons (myself included) I also didn't loathe the card like some. I just hated they didn't make Bad Attitude an equal counter even though that was the intent. If BA would have had even just a green pip, I would have been content.

And also, now I am wondering how I would have done at Gen Con with my Nemesis Aimless Flamewar deck if I didn't play PTA in all my losses...

Now the players who had PTA in mind for their decks for the Energon Open have to go back to the drawing board.

Saw this coming since day one. I'm super pissed. Not because it was PtA, but because it is another ban within the game's first year. Fucking lazy and sloppy on WotC's behalf. They've been at this for 2 decades now. FUCKING learn the lessons already and stop using bans as a bandaid to cover your fuck ups, cause all it does is encourage lazy designing. DAMN it, we warned them since the get go about this. Warned them how powerful this card was and they still printed it this way. Pure irresponsibility and negligence.

I’m not sure it was lazy designing but rather, they need a power balance in factions. Swap Parts was a legit ban but this could have been countered with another card. Also, if they stop making or banning power cards, the game becomes watered down.

I do not know who Wizards handels their ban list on Magic - but looking at Konami and YGO there is always a lot of movement on the list within a year.

It sure sucks - for the moment.
