Even failing a "true tetrajet," I'd like one that 1) doesn't have any of that awful "battle-damage" and 2) has a smooth texture free of ugly "greebles."

Those bot modes did far more than just "suffer." They're truly horrible. Even accepting that compromises are inevitable, I simply can't accept this was the best that was possible.

But, yes, the alt modes of the Impossible Toys tetrajets are beautiful. If you buy one, just never, ever transform it.

True, but that was from one of the worst 3p companies from 10 years ago. I think you can pull it off at the Voyager scale.

But at what price point? Might be Voyager scale, but I think Hasbro's price point would be more than that. I imagine there would be more faux parts and panels to jack the price up.

Yes, certainly not Hasbro now or even Hasbro from 10 years ago, but a decent 3P company could do it. It would be nice if some decent 3P company thought there was a market to produce figures to go with the BuzzWorthy Origins line.

Got my Origins Jazz today. Overall I'm happy with the figure but the door tabs are quite difficult to untab on mine. Especially because the doors use those damn clip in hinges instead of pins. And it looks like there are holes for pins so Hasbro must have cheaped out. When I try to un-clip the doors, very often the hinge will pop out first because it's barely hanging on.

Does anyone with Origins Jazz have actual pins in the side door hinges? I'm wondering if mine are missing or if Hasbro just decided to omit them.

The only thing that needs "improving" is in the alt mode.

    1. Give the nosecone a pointy tip.
    2. Create a "smoother" arc between the nosecone and each wing.
    3. Give the wings pointy-ish ends.
    4. Give it a proper vertical tailfin that flares upwards into a point.

That's the best way I can describe it. The Siege jet/starfighter mode is great. I just want an alternate design for the jet mode that resembles more of that very distinct "pointy-star" tetra design.

    Huh?

All you need to do is reshell the Siege Tetrajet and maybe add pointier partsforming bits at the front and the top that turn into guns.

It doesn't need any different engineering from Siege. Just reworked surface detailing and vehicle mode sculpt.

Not really. If you're going for the G1 look. The sides would have to be smooth and closed, concealing the legs, which are kinda low on the siege seeker in alt mode. The front is also too thick to match the animation.

The shell would have to fold up so the bot mode looks nicely. If the bottom of a siege seeker was covered up in a shell, it would either be a removable part or look very odd in bot mode as you'd have a big chunk of stuff to place and fold.

I don't think any designer in the history of this franchise has cared what the underside of a vehicle looked like.

I canceled my preorder for this on target.com. Already got him from Hasbro Pulse a few weeks ago. Wanted a second one just to have. Found one at my local target, so I won't be needing that preorder anymore.

Have no idea. I don't think anyone's has shipped from the target.com preorder. Better off finding it in store since some have been found on clearance. Like I said I got one from pulse then found an extra in store. I canceled my preorder since it wasn't going anywhere and has no release date on their site.

No idea, but my attempt to preorder it via Target never came in either. After what seemed way too long (especially since other people had him in hand for some time by then), and dealing with the test-charges, I got annoyed and ordered it from Pulse. Eventually, after having the figure in hand myself for a while, I cancelled the Target preorder that still had not come in.

The release date is blank on the product listing. Unless they fix this, it will never ship.

I found mine on clearance in the wild. I didn't bother preordering, since I remember the ORIGIN bumblebee warming pegs on sale for a while
