More realistic, to be sure, but decidedly inaccurate to the cartoon being homaged. This toy was simply never going to be that.

I'm with you, the tractor trailer feels more Prime-y to me. It may be 40 years of conditioning, but I'm kinda seeing the Autobots as almost exclusively peaceful altmodes in the pre and early war days and the cons being more militaristic.
Honestly, outside of Wheeljack and the WFC or IDW Dinobots, Optimus in either Marvel or IDW is my most wanted Cybertronian form. Maybe miner/gladiator Megatron.

I think I actually like the \'bot mode of Jazz here more than the Studio Series version. His torso is narrower and it feels better to me. Looking forward to whenever Target ships me mine.

I saw this argument somewhere else, if it wasn't this exact design, which is accurate to his first appearance. Then it would be some Siege style alt mode and would look nothing like this in any respect.

I want poeple to take a close like ok at his thighs and pelvis, its high quality for a Deluxe.

As a few people have commented that Origins Jazz looks smaller than Studio Series Jazz, because of my previous photo, here are some side by side pics. You can see they are pretty much a similar height.

I hope this clears it up.

Aside from some odd paint choices he looks even better in robot mode than 86 Jazz.

Yeah, I see that cartoon accuracy was what they are going for. I just wish sometimes they would stray away from it.
Don't get me wrong I like how this figure looks and I still want to get it. The chest is the one thing that bothers me, I'll probably design something to replace it.
    Thanks! :)

    100% this
If the figure looked like this, I'd actually consider buying it. At the moment the only allure it has is the grapple accessory.

I have two pre-ordered, one from Hasbro Pulse, and one from Target. I think I’ll probably keep both.

Extremely disappointing that the grapple is not compatible with SS86.

My point was that sometimes, in fact, most of the time, they do. But this toy was pretty specifically going for a specific homage.

I still wish they could stray away from it sometimes. Of course they're going to go for cartoon accuracy but I still wish the chest wasn't faux or at least resembled the actual front. Oh well not a big deal, as I said earlier I will probably design a replacement piece.

Going for the faux chest is kind of a Hail Mary Pass for the past few years now. At least we get the figs that looks like a real robot ( Runabout and Runamuck especially) and of course SS-86 Hotrod.
