Note I talking about the tactic used by the last MP Prime where the waist remains seamless none of those other examples share this technique, there's no waist gap at all.

ignoring the fact that this hip joint is technologically/engineeringly the exact same as all the examples i shared and not similar in that regard at all to MP-44 Optimus, and instead purely talking about the "seamlessness" conceptually:

notice how high of an angle the camera is shooting that pelvis from. also notice how on some of the examples i provided the gap is little enough that were they to be shot from similar angles they would provide the same "basically-seamless from many angles" effect, though of course the gap is visible from straight on. that's most likely what's happening here too

None of your examples have a seamless waist F7018_DIO_TRA_BB_GEN_LEGACY_DLX2_0002_Online_2000SQ_2000x~2.jpg

Ah, I didn't look closely at the other picture of it straight on. It does appear to be specifically designed to hide the gap, yes. Although I still wouldn't compare it to MP-44 Optimus because that uses a very different, more complicated system to achieve a similar result.

Confimed for Tarn (sitting right here on my computer).

Although looking closely at Tarn, the Jazz toy does it better. Tarn has only a front piece to make it seem seamless; Jazz has an all-around piece.

Anyway, that's nit-picking - I'd very much like this design choice to become standard for all deluxes, voyagers, and leaders. Along with the elbows that we've been seeing recently that allow a much larger range of movement than a mere 90 degrees.

    His headlight nipples bother me.
Unlike the OG design, the placement now is too close together, right at nipple line, and his vehicle mode has no lights.
    Weird choice.

I do like the look of vehicle mode tho...conundrum

It is a bit puzzling, although the aesthetics of the G1 Cybertronian alt modes are quite different from the Siege alts, exception being the seekers which are pretty spot on (chunky robot kibble underneath aside). Curiously the Siege robot modes were very G1, but their vehicles were largely not so different from their earth alt- modes. Since one mode lends to the other, I can understand (the original g1 cybertronian, modes in episode 1 were not designed to be toys back then) but I sometimes thought a bit more effort to sci-fi them up would have been appreciated. Not suggesting they all be hover-cars,necesarily. Hot-rod and Kup certainly weren't, although I've never been too clear if they were meant to be cybertronian vehicles or possible future earthmodes.Hotrod could be either, but Kup does look pretty alien.

That's one thing I like about the Siege Galaxy Leader Optimus Prime. Most would consider Siege Voyager Optimus to be the better figure, and in many ways it is. The robot mode is better proportioned than Galaxy Leader's inner robot. But his alt-mode is really just his earth truck with a bit on top and a a couple of gatling guns.*, and a bit of 'circuitry' on the windows. It's not bad at all, pretty good in fact, but it looks to me more like a mode Optimus might have adopted after returning to Cybertron after his shenanigans on earth. I.e "I'll keep my alt-mode but, tech me up!"

The Galaxy alt, while having some similarities to an earth fire-engine (i think the cab design is enough to edge it into alien sci-fi territory) does look like how I'd imagine a cybertronian battle wagon to be. Then again, that version isn't even trying to be G1, while Siege Voyager, different shaped windows aside, is.

While they are probably harder to buy now, those last two are something the Siege line managed pretty well. Soundwave's primary alt-mode is a drop-ship thing, but he can take a form that pulls off that lamp from the G1 cartoon pretty well. And the seekers alts are in style like their G1 versions, although I wish they'd integrated their robot bits better.

    *I'll admit, I liked those.

Hopefully that and the others aren’t super far away. Want to see how much better they look in hand.

    This was his post.

Is it just me or does the box look slightly dented?
It could just be a trick of the light reflecting but something feels off about the box.
