This looks like it's basically a "Clash Royale" ripoff. And I really like Clash Royale! But it's not intriguing enough to get me to sign up for Apple Arcade on its own.

We really just need a new WfC/FoC style game again. Those games were so much fun with great character designs.

It seems only War For Cybertron and Fall Of Cybertron remake/remaster can save the franchise. It would be cool if Hasbro merged those 2 games into one the same way as Mass Effect Legendary Edition.

Is anybody having issues where the game isn’t saving progress? I just advanced to the Chaar arena but when I exited the game and logged back in it reverted me back to Cybertron. Lost some cards I earned from my last session as well.

Sadly, with the expiration of the license and the delisting of those games and Devastation on digital storefronts, that's incredibly dubious. Especially since there seems to now be an integrated cross-media approach to all things Generations. Using the name "War for Cybertron" when there was just a toyline called that seems like something Hasbro and the other parties involved would be disinclined to do now, unless it was a new game using those newer designs. And they didn't really sell well enough to justify remasters of collections. Unfortunately.

Instead, I think our best hope is just for an entirely original, full fat, AAA Transformers game to get made again. Maybe one based on some of the recent Generations toyline designs and the fiction surrounding them. My real hope of course is just a massive celebration of all things Transformers, from G1 to Beast Wars to RiD to everything up to now including the Generations toys, in some kind of real, AAA game format. Maybe even a full on open world game set on Cybertron where we get to choose which versions of iconic characters from different iterations over the years we play as. With some kind of multiverse theme justifying that.

I would love that. But so far, a high quality AAA Transformers game seems to elude us. Mobile games are cheaper, easier to monetize, and while I hate to say it, kind of more in line with the level of Transformers' social currency today relative to other big IPs like Marvel and Star Wars. The movies have boosted Transformers' mainstream visibility a lot... but nowhere near that much. Outside of the devoted fandom, Transformers is big but not Marvel big. And not even Marvel games happen as often as one would think or like in terms of high quality AAA single player experiences. Because there are so many parties involved there are so many places where it could get tripped up.

We just finally got a G.I.Joe game that tries to appeal to both old and new fans and it's... a really mixed bag to say the least. :lol  I personally enjoy it, such as it is, but it's incredibly basic, janky, and flawed IMHO. That's how these properties tend to be handled these days when they cross over into video games, and I have to say, it's quite frustrating. When and if they get games at all.

An update just came out with three new "cards".

    Arcee (common)
    Sunstreaker (common)
    Moonracer (rare)

Moonracer is a sniper and the "best sharpshooter in the universe"... based on that I'm pretty upset they didn't use Sureshot.

    Sunstreaker is a ranged AOE.

Arcee is a bit of a generalist.

    Patch notes:

    [ THREE NEW CARDS ]

    • New Common Card: Arcee
    • New Common Card: Sunstreaker
    • New Rare Card: Moonracer

    [ CARD STAT UPDATES ]

    • A comprehensive sweep of Card Tuning brings more competitive balance to the game.
    • Stats in the Card Details section have been improved for greater detail and clarity.

    [ MATCHMAKING ]

    • Improvements to matchmaking to close the gap in skill levels and create more competitive matches at any rank.
    • AI Match Opt-In: if highly-ranked players encounter a long matchmaking time, they will be given the choice to wait for another player or opt-in to a ranked AI battle.

    [ CRATE REWARDS ]

Arena 1-6 Crates: Now contain a greater variety of cards with increased counts!

    [ BUG FIXES ]

    • Fixed a bug where Bumblebee’s Super Punch would land even after being stunned.
    • Tap Placement has been optimized.
