I cannot seem to find an existing thread for this.

Today, 11 November 2020, Kodansha released Transformers Super Encyclopedia (トランスフォーマー スーパー大図鑑), a new entry in their pocket encyclopedia series. For the price + tax of 1430 JPY (~14 USD), this edition contains 372 pages at A6 size.

Thanks for creating this (if there was an original, the search engine can't find it.) It's called " Transformers Super Daizukan" Got it for Y1430.

Using my hand as size reference, it aint that big and though nearly complete almanac spans from G1 to the Bayformers to Cyberverse to he current Netflix. The resolution of the pages for my eyes is not so high resolution or as I previously mentioned, my eyes aren't that sharp anymore and needs an upgrade.

My mentioning it "almost complete" is that in the G1 section, the author/editor missed out on Rumble, the red cassetron. Frenzy is included fyi.

Haha, you are welcome! I was surprised that no one else on TFW2005 had posted about this encyclopedia until the week of release.

    Thank you for starting this.

Also mentioning, Ramhorn G1 was also omitted.

Judging by its size, it’s only text I imagine?

True to their lack of Japanese release- the 1988 small Double Targetmasters are absent :(

USA or International release? It seems to be a trend of the writers or editors "forgetting" some of the 'bots. I have a JP book that featured just the box art and like Rumble is not included.

Aww, wished it was a regular MOOK sized hard covered book. What's even the reason for the pocket sized edition? Pass. :(

Interestingly, Super Encyclopedia features a tidbit or two that inexplicably did not make it into the contemporaneous Beast Generations.

I can't believe the authors of Beast Generations successfully went to the trouble of getting good photos of all the colour contest Cybertrons, but only the pocket-sized Super Encyclopedia has the relevant Galvatron.
